I hope that they continue terminals and skulls in the campaign, I enjoy doing that in the halo series.
Plus if they do the codes at the end of each video where you type in the code to unlock armour like in halo 4. Loved doing that.
If they have terminals, they better actually have them ingame, I hate having to go to the Halo Channel just to watch a video.
Yeah, some of them didn’t load because halo channel wasn’t working
I personally want them to return to text-based Terminals. The videos they create for the Terminals in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 4, and Halo 2: Anniversary are cool and stylish, but don’t make much sense to me. Did 343 Guilty Spark have a personal camera and just filmed a couple random video diaries over the hundreds of thousands of years? If not, how was all of that recorded visually? It doesn’t make much sense. It actually makes a bit more sense in Halo 4, as the Master Chief is supposedly directly accessing the Mantle, which allows him to vicariously “experience” information.
With all of that said, the text-based Terminals are still awesome to me. There’s a certain level of mystery you can get across using text that just doesn’t work as well for video Terminals. To this day, I am still mystified by Mendicant Bias directly contacting John-117 in the last level of Halo 3. There is a certain mystery about it all that is just fascinating. It gives me the chills. The video Terminals are cool for what they are, but they play more like those “Halo 101” videos on the Halo Channel, in my opinion. They just kind of plop extra lore into the game.
You have a valid point on 343 guilty spark dude
