Halo 5 Clans
I was thinking about how 343 can bring back the community feel to Halo and one of the obvious things was bring back the competitive scene. The best thing for this would be clans. This is how it would work.
You go to the start menu and hit the option “start clan”. You first name the clan (has to be original, no two clans can have the same name) then write a description. After this is finished you crete your Clan’s Emblem which will appear on your opposite shoulder. (This would be a cool feature because it would add more customization to your spartan).
The next step would be to invite players. (You could advertise on Halo Waypoint of corse). In order to do this you would have to go to a players service record and invite him. He’ll then see an Xbox notification. Once you have a clan you can send notifications to each other for matches and stuff.
Another cool thing would be to have each Clan to have a customizable page on Halo Waypoint. This would show the average win/loss of the clan, the average k/d , and of corse each member. It can also have a tournament schedule, and a forum on it.
Another thing is maybe people can join clans in waypoint.
I like it. The only problem is that 343 Industries would look at this as splitting the community up.
With dedicated servers in the next Halo, players could possibly host community created tournaments so I can see this happening.

How so? I see this as allowing the community to get more connected. Besides theirs always the casual playlists.
Or they could bring back the Halo 2 version of clans that was good.

Don’t necro post regardless of what you wish to say please

I don’t think posting in a month old thread is considered necro-posting.
> what does that mean?
Sigh dont post in old threads that have died out its against the rules and is pointless since people have already discussed the topic
How havn’t your heard of necro posting?
Also please use the quote button.

Not a huge one but it still is classed as one.

To me it seems perfectly reasonable. The user probably just searched for “Clan” topics instead of duplicating an already existing thread. If this thread was older than 6 months, sure, but it was created fairly recently so I don’t see any issues with it.
Anyways OT.
Clan support is desperately needed for Halo 5. One of the most fun parts of Halo 2 was getting a group together and playing against other rival clans. There were ranks and leaderboards and it was really addictive.
I like the ideas you’ve suggested, with being able to view clan members off of service records and Waypoint integration. It’s really just taking it to the next level, and I like that.
Besides, even if you’re not going to be playing competitively it would still be cool to be in a Clan and have that reflect in-game rather than putting it in your XBL bio.
just to let know 343 won’t read this just cause you told them to. But this is a good idea

One month plus is a necro post, one month is pretty old on a forum. Its not that bad but it’s still a necro post

ill stop doing that when you stop mini modding.
It would be nice to have Clans back, but it needs to go a step farther:
In order to create the clan, you must make the Clan on the Halo Waypoint website, or App. You will be given a dedicated and customizable Clan Page and Private Forum much like Bungie.net’s Groups.
Once you have created this clan, you will notice you can access your Clan list from Halo XB1, and even see information like that player’s Clan Rank.
You can customize your Clan Emblem, Clan Tag (which would appear in front of gamertags of your clan members’), and even pre-define Clan Uniforms, and how many clan-mates must be in the same lobby for these Uniforms to override their own customized characters.
Finally, on top of that, there should be a 4v4, and an 8v8 Clan Match playlist. You can only play in this list with a full team (either 4, or 8) of members from the same clan. And when you win, or lose, a match in Clan Match. An automatically generated thread on your Private Forum will generate in the “Clan Match” section to give the results of the game. As well, a pair of “Clan Match” leaderboards, one for each playlist, that score your clan +1 point per win, and -1 point per loss.
You should be able to locate other clans on Halo Waypoint as well, and it will give you a “Clan Service Record” page, showing things like that clan’s average K/D and W/L ratios among members, that clan’s top K/D and W/L player, their member list, and also as the ability to see that clan’s “Clan Match” playlist history. And information like the total kills with each weapon of all their members combined. Etc. It should basically be like a Player’s service record, but covering the entire clan.

This would be amazing!

I wouldn’t consider a one-month difference as a necropost…
It has to be at least 3 months for that accusation to even be considered.
OT: I think Halo needs to return to it’s former state when it comes to Clan support, preferably how it was in Halo 2.

I really like how you added 4v4 and 8v8 as options, like Minor & Major Clan matches from H2. I think by adding Clans they can attract a lot of players, both casual and competitive alike.
Maybe they can even host mini-tournaments and such for microsoft points or other small prizes to give people incentive to form a team and compete.
