Halo 5 Chief and Locke Trailer: My Theory

I’m basing this theory off the Halo 5 Guardians Locke Ad, Chief Ad, and the audio log from Hunt the Truth released on March 29th. Here are some points:

  • Chief in the Chief ad isn’t Chief… it’s his flash clone that replaces him after he gets abducted at age six.
  • Clone Chief (talked about in audio log) gets abducted by Insurrectionists and eventually turns into the Chief in the Chief ad.

I think this theory could be valid due to the fact that the “real” Chief is out venturing somewhere else off the radar. What if after Chief left, this new clone Chief came out of no where and started causing havoc. In the audio log, it is mentioned that the clone lived until 12 so it is possible that it’s still alive rather than dying like other Spartan II clones.

Also, to add on to the theory, the city in both images matches the city in this Halo 5 concept art: http://cdn1-www.comingsoon.net/assets/uploads/2014/01/file_113314_0_halo5conceptartlarge.jpg

Could have the clone chief destroyed the city? What are your thoughts on this theory?

Edit: Remember everyone, this is just a theory. I’m just throwing this out there for thought purposes. Are there holes in it? Yes. However, there is still some possibility of truth within the theory itself, even if it’s just a small part of it.

Sorry, I don’t lore.

Stop with this clone chief stuff. It’s an absolutely ridiculous theory. We know for a fact that the clones died- his just happened to die sometime after the age of 12.

On top of that, do you really think 343 is just going to copy exactly what Bioware did with Shepard? And still, where did insurrectionists get Mark VI armour from?

I swear, this theory is something I’d expect from that Halofollower rubbish.

Would still need augmentation and power armor, which I doubt the Innies had access too. The more likely take is that the interviews in the audio logs were from ONI plants providing falsified information. It’s no coincidence that the boxing story happens to be very similar to a recorded incident that occurred when John was 14 between him and some ODSTs.

Also, flash clones are fragile, and while Chief may be special himself, his clone was not. And no, I find it highly unlikely that somehow John’s clone living past the age of 6 never blipped on anyone’s radar, especially Halsey’s. The clones died within a year, with a few exceptions, and in all cases they were sickly and weak.

As for the ads, they were symbolic. Both were fairly out of character, possibly symbolizing the extremes of both sides (truth is in the middle, all that jazz).

How did they get the Spartan armor, how did they know chief was a Spartan clonr of which to steal, how did they get the exact same armor as modern chief? Too much coincidence to be legit.

Basically, the Spartan II’s, after being abducted, were cloned so that no suspicion was raised by family or anybody else of their disapearance. All the Spartan II’s clones were expected to die early on. However, as mentioned in the audio log, people from his home world recalled him living up to around 12 years old. This doesn’t make sense since we all know Chief was abducted and his clone was suppose to die. Maybe this clone manged to live somehow.

Yeah, I’m sorry. I’ll admit that crossed my mind for a bit, but if it was real, it would kinda tick me off. It’s really…stupid. In general clone plots really just are weird and kinda gimmicky. Not to mention the flash clones weren’t meant to survive so long. I dunno, clones would really just screw this up.

Yes most clones died right away…if only we knew a guy who was LUCKY…

Doesn’t quite work that way as we begin to venture into the “what is a soul” category. Typical sci-fi mentality is that clones are shells of the individual in which they mirror, and John’s luck is more than just his genes, so odds are this luck did not extend to the clone. It’s more logical to just assume we are being fed incorrect information ala Occam’s Razor.

You got a point about it being gimmicky. Remember though, it is just a theory after all. Just some food for thought.

True I also find it funny you mentioned odds.

I think it could be a possibility. I bet the insurrectionist, seeing the spartan’s, would be desperate to make their own spartan’s. Maybe they found Chief’s clone to be strong enough to be their own spartan.

They tried already(Halo New Blood).

They only thing that even remotely supports this ridiculous clone theory- is that fact that his childhood friend in the interview did not protest being told that he (rather his clone) is still alive because she saw him die.

Now, this might be because he didn’t die- at least not before the planet was glassed… or it might simply mean she had assumed he died in the glassing, so she was not as shocked to find out he lived since other lived as well and she didn’t keep in touch.

This theory just doesn’t hold up. There are numerous holes that completely sink it.

Perhaps Locke didn’t kill the Chief, but claimed he did, and his commercial was the lie, maybe to his officials. Maybe the Chief ad was the truth.

Yes. But remember, this is just a theory. I’m just throwing this out there for thought purposes. Are there holes in it? Yes. However, there is still some possibility of truth within the theory itself, even if it’s just a small part of it.

Hairline Fracture says the the clone and his parents were abducted by innies when he (the clone) was 13. At that time, they would have no idea of the identity of the chief- and would not be able to make that connection- both the clone, and the parents were very likely killed at some point around that time.

I’m not saying the innies knew he was connected to Chief. They probably saw that the clone was strong and wanted him to become one of their soldiers.

Was it augmented?

Oh man I didn’t catch the innie kidnap part. Calling it now, ONI is going to claim Chief has been an Innie plant the entire time after being brainwashed when he was kidnapped. This was the only thread I need to explain why they would lie about him living past 6. To build this story explaining why he’s go rogue. Bing-bang-boom
