Every other Halo has iconic maps. Halo 5 uses Forge for everything and changes the maps too often. Halo is about map control. How are we supposed to get use to the maps when they change all the time? Most Halo 5 maps are boring and many are Forge made. Forge is great for custom games but I expect some dedicated consistent maps at launch. Halo 4 has much better BTB maps than Halo 5 because of 4’s consistent launch maps. Whenever I go a while without playing Halo 5, I end up playing on maps I’ve never seen. I can do the same thing with Halos 1-4 and still know where all the weapons/vehicles are. I’m mostly stating the problems with Halo 5 so hopefully we can get some dedicated maps with Halo Infinite.
But change in H5 is good because the BTB maps thus far in H5 have been very lack luster. Even the “new” ones aren’t great. You can truly see that all effort went into the warzone maps and not arena maps. There isn’t one truly great BTB map in H5. My favorite, and only great H5 BTB, which I sadly must say I can’t remember the name of(forgive me I am medicated right now) was the one with like the giant exvagator in the middle you could man cannon on too…sadly it was removed. But it was an awesome original map and would have been great with a refresh of developer graphics. The remakes Viking and risen are pretty good but they aren’t H5 maps. I have some hopes for Infinite but not much faith in 343 at this time really. Even this last BTB refresh didn’t excatly wow me. The maps are good but not great…and forged made. Which isn’t that big a deal to me because how it plays is more important to me than graphics. I was just under the impression all maps were going to look better after the second btb refresh.
H5 does have dedicated maps since or not that long after launch mainly in 4v4, but there are also new ones. Since you referred to BTB, the last map refresh before this latest one was over two years ago so they aren’t always changing in that playlist at least.

The problem is that Halo 5 didn’t launch with BTB. War zone was supposed to be a replacement. Why would I want to play Viking when I can play Ragnarok in Halo 4? It plays better and looks better despite being an older game. I primarily play BTB and Halo 5 is nothing but a downgrade. Maybe this my fault but I still don’t know every map in Halo 5.
