Halo 5 Campaign species'

Campaign:
Forerunners,
Covenant,
Flood
or a new species.

Which one would you want the campaign to be based on?

The Covenant have always been the most interesting, as well as the most fun to fight.

All.

By “based on”, are you referring to [insert name here] being the main enemy, or something else?

If it’s the main enemy that you’re referring to, then there’s only one answer…

The Flood

> The Covenant have always been the most interesting, as well as the most fun to fight.

Up until now, they have also been the most plausibly fun to fight. As of the new direction of Chief going rogue, we may have to fight ourselves. That in and of itself opens up new possibilities for the standard mainline UNSC Marine, or S-IV.

> All.

This. Ideally, it begins focusing on the Storm Covenant and then Master Chief goes soul searching and fights some Prometheans wherever that trailer is set. I definitely want to see the Flood back in Halo, too. It could be a great end game twist… But I’m not so sure we’ll see them again just yet.

I want something NEW. I don’t want a retread of past species and ideas.

All of them. Even Humans if the story allows it.

Prometheans need tightening up. The Knights just come tanks later in the game, dodging everything and taking way too long to kill.

They should add maybe one more class to make it 4 types of Prometheans.

I think that the Covenant, Prometheans, and Flood will all somehow appear in HX1. but the idea of a “new Faction” is just disgusting! I mean the storm were remnants of the covenant, the prometheans were plain forerunner, and even rebels from HW were a form of Humans. dont make halo one of those new faction here faction never goes back there things. If anything UNSC, Covie Sep., Sentinels, Storm, Prometheans, and flood should appear in H5

This.

Fighting covies, prometheans AND flood is going to be badass enough.

Well the evil side of the Covenant is nothing but a collapsed terrorist faction and the Flood being contained on the other installations and are probably somewhere outside of this galaxy, I would go with the Forerunners. Not THE Forerunners, but what’s left of them; The Didact, Prometheans, Sentinels, or something else that’s Forerunner in origin.

Also it would be awesome to fight all three factions all at once, as long as what’s left of the Forerunners under the Didact to be the main enemies in the Reclaimer saga though.

I’d like to meet the other surviving Forerunners besides the Didact. I want to see the Flood and Covenant as well though, maybe even fight flood infected Forerunners.

A new species could be interesting, not sure how it could be implemented properly considering the cluster-eff of hostility and potential war flying around in the Halo universe at the minute though.

> The Covenant have always been the most interesting, as well as the most fun to fight.

Well I always thought that the forerunners and flood were the most interesting but most fun to fight goes to the covenant for sure.

‘Halo 5’ should aspire to be what Mass Effect 2 was to Mass Effect 3, in terms of laying the story for the next game all the while being an epic piece of storytelling in its own right.

Although I’d like the new game to place more importance on the imminent threat of the Flood and Precursors; and the allure of using the Forerunner tech to improvise Humanity’s own tech and troops to battle the Flood.
Emphasis should be placed on having and maintaining symbolic ties with the Lydus’s Brutes and The Arbiter’s Elites as potential allies rather than just focus solely on killing Covie Remnants.
Also it’s common knowledge that Human Insurrection will be playing a huge part in the next game due to its high focus in the novels and comics, so I’d rather see some interesting combos with enemies to kill for the Chief.
I hope that Human-centric politics doesn’t overshadow the rich elements of the Precursors and Flood which Greg Bear has left for us.

I really want Chief to go rogue and be forced to beat the snot out of Palmer and any Spartan IVs that get in his way.

I think the main theme of the game should have to do with forerunners, however that does not mean they would be the main enemies.

UNSC
Allied Covenant

Jul’s Covenant
Ur-Didact and Forerunner machines

Gravemind and Flood

Well thats more factions than species but whatever.

After reading “Escalation” I can only assume the Brutes will make an appearance.
Then again, there are Forerunners to be dealt with and a war between the Arbiter’s Covenant and Covenant Remnant would get a little confusing. Plus, we’ve already done a Covenant Civil War.

I would like to see the Prometheans do what they were made to do: fight the Flood.
