A well-known brazilian youtuber (3+ million subscribers) posted a video talking about the Halo 5 campaign. He said he attended a Microsoft media event recently and could see about 25 minutes of the campaign. In the video he says that the campaign is running at 1080p and a locked 60fps and the graphics look pretty and very clean. He also said a developer told him that the Halo 5 campaign is about 2 to 3 times longer than Halo 4’s. He speaks portuguese, but I’ll leave the link for those who want to check.
This is no confirmation, but it sure is a good sign

I pretty much already knew all this, but thanks anyway
Halo 5 being able to reach 1080p and e locked at 60fps is surprising news.
I would frankly be VERY surprised if the game is locked at 1080p. Given the scale of zones and number of possible enemies in an encounter, being able to maintain 1080p/60fps seems unlikely.
Hey, I could be mistaken, and we know that 343i knows how to maximize graphics (Halo 4 was arguably the best looking game for 360), but I’m expecting a dynamic resolution system that sometimes achieves 1080p when the load on the system isn’t too strenuous.
Hmmm he seems to being speaking a language of some sorts… But not good ol Murican…

Solaris? That you? Squints eyes you look different.
I’m skeptical about 1080p at 60 fps, but it’ll look good regardless of resolution.
I’m very skeptical about this assertion. People have been discussing Halo 5’s final resolution ever since the Beta and if it was indeed confirmed by 343 at a press event, it would be on every gaming site. And I’m not finding it anywhere…
I’ve heard that it’s variable between 900p and 1080p, but I don’t have a single fact to back that up.

That’s pretty much the standard around here anyways so no sweat.
But I thought 343 actually said that at some point though I have no idea where.

So we wait.
I’d play the game even if it was at 720p. The 60 FPS is far more important to me than the 1080p, but if 343 can do both, Halo 5 is going to be one of the most gorgeous current gen games!
Id prefer to have the dynamic resolution + good anti aliasinf than full on 1080p and no power left for AA. honestly 1080p is great but with bad anti aliasing it just ruins it, 900p and AA better in my books

This was funnier than it should have been haha

Dude, upscaling from 900P, even if it has MSAAx8 applied to it will look worse than 1080p+FXAA (a quick AA that doesn’t require to study the geometry in-game).
And I’m a PC gamer here so I’m gonna ask… consoles are truly capable of changing resolution on the fly, during gameplay? Because I highly doubt so, and I don’t see how it could be better than having steady 1080p with any kind of AA.
Nope, he probably thought the 60 fps made it look 1080p. Only a wet dream

I do not think there is anybody out there that would confuse between the two. And I do believe the Xone can manage 1080p and 60fps with Halo 5. Doesn’t look that demanding graphically compared, to, let’s say, Watch_Dogs or the stuning Crysis 3; and the console manages at least 900p on those.

Eurogamer’s analysis of the E3 campaign demo indicates a dynamic resolution, ranging from 1920x1080 (1080p) to 1152x810. Their analysis of footage from Gamescom this month draws similar conclusions, and notes that 343 says the resolution hasn’t been finalized yet.
