Just curious to see what the community could come with for Halo 5 if it had community input
I love telling how Halo 5 should have been… Well as we know from Halo 4 Spartan Ops that Dr. Halsey was with the Covenant. In Halo 4 Cortana is breaking down and dying. She tells Chief the only way to fix her is to get her back to Halsey. Well after Halo 4 we see Chief walking on another planet in a cloak(to hide his identity from any one who maybe passing in the distance) when a guardian come up out of the sand and he looks at his AI chip. So then the premise of H5 would be Chief being actually AWOL hunting for Halsey. Then Locke would have been hunting for Chief. Also in my version there would be no team aspect to campaign. It would have been more like H2 where you would have played one mission as Chief and one mission as Locke. So there would have been an actual “hunt” in the game. Not like H5 where there was no hunt and every one knew where every one was going. I haven’t worked out any more details as it’s pretty depressing what could have been. Oh I would have never allowed them to run that add where Locke holds a gun on Chief and the reverse where Chief holds a gun on Locke, that was kinda dumb especially since it never even came close to happening in H5.
Halo5 with my own story:It would be a unenjoybale mess.I rather let do the professional the story writting.
For H5 and in H6, I would make the Prometheans have a much lesser role in the story and eventually move on from them to something else. I’ll gladly let 343 take that idea without giving me credit. 
My input goes all the way back to Halo 4 - Master Chief actually follow orders and hand over the rogue AI Cortana to Del Rio. Not sure that Halo 5 would then have happened at all? Too many Wardens also.

Cortana actually turned evil due to the influence of sir fuzzy buttons a talking cat that told her how good banana ice cream tastes. Since sheis an AI and doesn’t have a physical body to experience this bliss she decides to wipe out sentient life using the guardians/halo rings, because if she can’t have the banana ice cream no one will.
The master chief gets wind of her plans and goes to stop her by convincing her that transferring herself into a robotic body with artificial taste buds would be a better option than killing everyone.
Locke is upset about chief’s plan as he is allergic to bananas and can’t enjoy the banana ice cream himself. So he convinces the UNSC that chief is a threat to the universe and gets assigned to kill him. This way no one will have the banana ice cream that he has been denied due to his horrific allergy.
Meanwhile the warden eternal is trying to break free of cortana’s control so that he can open up a rickshaw business in Charleston, south carolina with thousands of bodies and no employees his overhead would be non-existent.

I would’ve liked to see the Didact be the main antagonist, where you are fighting him, his right-hand-man Warden Eternal, and his Prometheans. An all out war between Humanity and the Forerunner warriors for the Mantle.

Yeah it would be nice to see that, maybe add in a little flood then its what happened last time all over again, except without the extinction of humans.
Tbh, I just wanted to see the story that the marketing promised us. Master Chief going AWOL in order to uncover some kind of conspiracy/ searching for Cortana, and Locke as an ONI spook hunting him down. It would have been great to see some ideological conflict between the two sides, with Chief developing and feeling more human as the game goes on and Locke effectively being a machine controlled by ONI. I also feel like Halo 5’s story tried to have a huge sense of scale, but I feel like it should’ve been a more personal, contained, character-driven story that continues the development Halo 4 set up for Master Chief.
