I wonder how likely it might be that 343 is working on a campaign expansion game that includes Blue Team’s side of the story of Halo 5 to release sometime before Halo 6.
- Yeah, Phil Spencer said there won’t be a Halo FPS this year, but he could either be keeping things under wraps or the game could release early next year. - Josh Holmes said that there wouldn’t be a campaign expansion to Halo 5, but he left a while ago. - Ske7ch said that Halo at E3 2017 wouldn’t be related to the next MAJOR installment in the franchise, so an expansion for Halo 5 would fit that description. - Frank O’ Connor also stated that 343 has acknowledged that fans wanted to see Master Chief’s side of the story. Its interesting to think about. Not very likely. They’ve said before that campaign expansions weren’t planned for Halo 5’s future. Additionally, I doubt they’ll be making one this far into Halo 5’s lifetime.

I don’t know, Josh Holmes stated that and he is now gone. It seems like there was a nice reshuffling at 343.

While that may be true, I don’t think that their plans for Halo 5 would change that much following his departure.

Possibly, but a lot of people have left and others like Tom French have been promoted. It would be really cool if Microsoft did this, because right now Microsoft is looking to have a really bad E3.

Was going to dismiss this, but I hadn’t realized that.
One can only hope, but yeah it seems kind of unlikely. It’s something they really should do, but I think we’re too far along for them to actually do it at this point. A sort of ‘Special Edition’ for the Scorpio could be possible, but frankly I’d be surprised if they put in the work for an expanded story for that.
Side note: Scorpio as a whole seems like a bad idea. Like I’m not buying another, more-expensive version of the console that I already have just so that it can be comparable to a gaming computer for like a year before it’s outmatched again. Especially with Halo 6 apparently coming to Windows 10. Like what’s even the point of the Xbox at that point?
It would be cool, but I don’t think so, I think a Scorpio version of the game seems more likely

Well there most likely will be a Scorpio patch for the game, but it would be an excellent way to set up Halo 6 with a solid foundation of a story.
343s’ E3 presence will most likely revolve around campaign DLC for Halo wars 2 , seeing as it is the most recent Halo release and campaign expansions were hinted at , but never fleshed out with any details about when to expect it ; and with todays hostility towards cut/delayed content specifically for DLC , no way 343 would release a major story chunk that had obviously been cut for that purpose three months after launch ; it would/could conceivably take 6 to 8 months to complete a new story DLC.

An expansion wouldnt release at that point, no. Thats not what anyone was suggesting. The idea was that they might have a trailer. The overall post was about the likelihood of a possible Halo 5 campaign expansion of some sort being somewhat more likely now than it was before.
It is highly unlikely that blue team will get an expansion. 343 will most likely just continue on with the games they have planned rather than backtrack and build upon Halo 5.

The problem with that is it’s past tense. Things change all the time, I remember hearing that Spartan Ops was supposed to last for years and yet it didn’t. I also remember 343i denying that they were making Halo 2A and yet it still came out. Basically plans change all the time and even if they were doing it then I doubt they’d admit to it until they announce it officially at an event like E3.
You mean Fireteam Osiris, right? 'Cuz Blue Team’s mission was longer, than the missions with Osiris. 343 have to expand Osiris storyline, since we haven’t got enough Locke.

No. We hardly got any Blue Team in Halo 5. If anything we need more of Master Chief and Blue Team.
I doubt it,I don’t see the point in adding a dlc like that nearly 2 years after release but it is a really good idea though and one were they could go several routes with

I understand you weren’t suggesting that , I was explaining why we hadn’t received story DLC for Halo Wars 2 up to this point , and that I think that (Halo Wars Story DLC) is more likely than a Halo 5 campaign DLC.

Seem like my sarcastic comment wasn’t good enough.
I know exactly by the way. The whole was unbalanced, 343 forced thier little, no one cares SIV’s Locke.

Still think the most likely explanation there (especially given Hunt the Truth):
Original plan for H5 was to just be Halo: Guardians (take out the number and have no playable Chief).
Instead: we played as Osiris through the whole game and slowly (e.g. through terminal cutscenes - and think how much of the Blue Team story is told that way anyway) we uncovered the truth that Chief hadn’t gone rogue.
Then someone at 343i got cold feet about having no Chief, they tried to shoehorn it in and that’s what we ended up with and why the story was so shockingly poor.
And who do we have to blame? Well… actually it’s ourselves as the fanbase for the initial reaction: sure if 343i had been very clear from the stary this would be a no Chief game that would have also helped.

To go back to the main thread: it is a possibility… but I don’t see it. HW2 story, for me, also needs to be separate for the moment. We need H6 to bring things together.
What about the long-awaited Halo TV project? Could that serve as a marketing campaign for H6?
Doubt it. Seems very unlikely for any campaign DLC to arrive due to how long it is from the game’s release.
As much as I would love it to fill in the “gaps”, it seems very unlikely and I’m hoping Halo 6 will knock Halo 4 & 5 off the water.

Right, but so does HW2. We know there’s campaign DLC coming for that, along with a few more updates. It seems more plausible that he’s referring to that over H5.
The only thing I see happening for H5 is the last content update. We’re due one more for sure.
