I really hope we get a totally new scene for the Halo Multiplayer experience especially for BTB i’m hoping 343 have got some good ideas in store for us. All these brand new next-gen games are taking it to another level. Lets hope for the best!
Of course, but we might need bots if they want to increase the player count that much. I say at the very most, 16v16 if they want only real players in the game.

That could work the (16vs16 i mean). if they put bots into the mp game this community would probably emplode on its self

Yeah that sounds good
If 343 gave is 16v16, I would cry tears of joy

I think I’d rather no bots personally.

sniff sniff I can see it now.
It’s beautiful :’)
The only problem I see with that many players and obviously larger maps and more action happening is the drop in graphical quality. BF4 and BFH both only run at 720p on the Xbox one, and if Halo 5 had 32 v 32 then I don’t think it will be any better than BF in terms of resolution. And if Halo 5 is less than 1080p than we all know Sony fanboys will have a field day with that knowledge.
That’d b mental.
Problem is they would need to work server browsers into the game and actually use servers, as awsome as it would be… The most I can see for halo 5 is 10v10

Who the -Yoink- cares about Sony? “Let’s not do this super cool thing cause then we won’t haev az guud grafx!” Are you -Yoinking!- serious? -_-

Yeah, I don’t think that this is a major concern. Most people who had to choose an Xbox or a Playstation have already made their decision by now, and if making XL-Team battle means temporarily downgrading the graphics, then so be it. Its not like people are going to sell their Xbox Ones en masse over something as minor as this.

Did I say they shouldn’t do it becuase of Sony fanboys? No. All I’m saying is having larger game types has downsides too.
Too many players, make it 10 v 10 at the most, in my opinion of course.
I have said this many times before when similar topics have come up before but it simply isn’t practical. The needs of a 32-64 player games are completely different from one that is typically 8-16. You are essentially trying to fit two games into one and it just doesn’t work. Either one of the two experiences will get the lion’s share of the resources leaving one of them without as much polish, or both of them suffer.
It would fail for the same reason ‘competitive’ Battlefield fails. In the case of Battlefield designing a 64 player map and sandbox does not lend itself well to shrinking down to a squad sized experience. It is also the reason why BF2: Modern Combat and BF: Bad Company 1, BF 1943 are better console battlefield games than BC2, BF3, and BF4. Those games were designed with consoles and their smaller player counts in mind which is why play so well. It may not play like 64 player BF, but it was certainly better than playing with a sandbox designed around a 64 player sandbox with only 24 players. Trying to have your cake and eat it rarely works out.
If you want a great 32-64 player game set in the Halo universe than it needs to be its own separate game. Tying it to the core Halo series will only serve to hold it back from its true potential. Think of it this way. Would you rather have had a BF style ‘Commander mode’ in a core Halo game or would you rather have had Halo Wars?
On another note, we really have to get past this notion that Halo has to have a player count increase(or be open world for that matter) in order to become a ‘next-gen’ game. Nothing about either of those two gameplay changes are in anyway new to the gaming world. There is no linear path to what constitutes a ‘next-gen’ game, only an ever expanding series of design choices and genres that are not inherently ‘outdated’ simply because newer mechanics have been introduced.
Linearity is not inherently a bad or outdated thing. There are tradeoffs for just about everything. Increasing the player count does not ‘move the series forward’ as if that is the only possible path. Its merely change that can be considered good or bad depending on your perspective and the quality of the end product. Long story short, let’s drop this whole “Halo needs X to be next-gen” line of discussion, it’s rather silly.
Halo has an emphasis on long kill times, precision, and calculated gunplay. It has a holy trinity that -Yoinking- works, and in older titles, had much smaller maps with much tighter gameplay. I’d like to see more of this.
HOWEVER.
> You know what I really want?

> Firefight + Invasion. Think about it.

> Player controlled Spartans and NPC UNSC assets vs Player controlled Elites and NPC Covenant assets. It would kind of merge the concepts of shooting players and shooting grunts, both of which are integral to Halo.
> People talk about how concerned they are for BTB in upcoming Halo titles. They say they want huge 32 or 64 player games on Halo Wars inspired maps, but I don’t see that working. What if, instead, we had a simple 4v4 or 6v6 and tons of AI? Obviously, there would need to be some mechanic for tactically directing AI, so you can have a squad of Marines get your back against the two hunters and a player in a tank. (in fact, such a mechanic would have been useful in…like…every Halo campaign ever) The sandbox would also have to be balanced towards Human vs Covenant, but Reach did a pretty good job of that.

> Of course, we could have some fun with a gametype that fuses PvP and PvE. Imagine if a third faction of Prometheans, Flood, Brutes, Sentinels, Heretics, Insurrectionists or slightly perturbed Guta’s stormed in? Imagine if, thanks to some weapon or powerup on the map that players are fighting over, these AI would bend themselves to the player’s will? Imagine throwing a battalion of Prometheans against a Scorpion and seeing who comes out on top?
I feel that 32 v 32 doesn’t fit with Halo. If they were to increase the number it’ll probably be 12v12
I would be so happy if BTB was 10v10!

What is the difference between a game like halo and a game like battlefield? Not being an -Yoink-! I’m just not getting what the problem would be?
Maybe an ultra battle but i would still like a bigteam battle to be 8v8
