Halo 5 Beta weapons

So I was looking at the trailer for the beta and checking out some of the weapons that will be in Halo 5 and was concerned. It looks to me as if the appearance of the armor and weapons are like that of kids toys. They look like chubby little water guns and cheap action figures. I’m really hoping this is just a beta thing. Any thoughts in regards to this?

I refer you to my old thread on the subject.

As you can see, the majority of people (at least on this forum) like them.

As for looking like water guns, I would have to disagree. The guns are utilising polymer components, rather than being solid chunks of metal. Not only, from a practical standpoint, would this maker them lighter and cheaper on the UNSC, but it also signifies the modernisation of Halo’s designs. Bungie was really retro-futuristic in its styling, saying that the UNSC use current-day NATO ammo, and not really making anything human overly modern or futuristic. The guns now look like a modern firearm, with the classic halo futurism mixed in as well.

I LUV 'EM!

I have mixed feelings about the coloration. Particularly on the BR, the Silver and Black are very contrasting. Either make it entirely black, or just make specific parts of it black. Half black and half silver just doesn’t look good. Very mixed feelings about the AR.

I agree that the armor itself looks pretty plastic at the moment. Seriously, is that a screenshot of the game or a screenshot of some new McFarlane action figures? I honestly can’t tell. The actual designs of the armor are mediocre.

Models are pretty much the same, which is good and bad. DMR is still pretty bland looking, Sniper is…just stop trying. Very few people seem to want the new Sniper, just stop. The SMG is adorable, as it should be.

Looks aren’t what I’m concerned about though. As far as I know the beta only has like four weapons left aside from the ones we’ve been shown, and some of those could just be weapons we’ve already had… That’s not a lot of new weapons to be testing.

I don’t like the BR, too much of the same.

They’re incomplete renders. The matte finish and detail hasn’t been added yet. This is what the armour’s finish will look like later.

I know I’m like 1 out of a million people to say this but I like the way the armor in halo 4 was but add the customization of reach with aattachments.the plastic way it looks in the trailer looks good to me for some reason. Don’t know what it is about it but I like it.

The weapons are ok in the beta preview. The battle rifle is the only one I would say looks great. The black and orange look sick!

The smg worries me a little. The coloring is odd. The magazine looks like it goes under the handle if you look closely while in previous games it was different.

The assault rifle looks okay…not the best. Hopefully it changes a bit appearance wise.

That rocket launcher thing, we’ll just have to wait and see.

The DMR looks great!

IMO

.

Those are just renders, we still have a bit and that was over a month ago, 343 knows what and how its done now

I expect it to confuse people who think guns are just made out of metal and nothing else.

compare this real life gun to the texture and color of the Assault Rifle render: http://sadefensejournal.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/arx1.jpg
