What’s more annoying, the people that think this game absolutely sucks or the ones that kiss 343’s -Yoink!- in a completely embarrassing way? Listen up all of you kiddos that played halo 4 as your first halo. Some people are upset because halo is becoming something differant and inferior (opinion) and that is ok.
-This is the third game this year I’ve played with thrusters and I just don’t like how it changes the battle. Just make the jet pack a peice of equipment you can pick up like in ODST. Give it a spawn location and let it be OP.
-one of the few bright spots (initially) of H4’s multiplayer was the limited sprint. Why change it to unlimited sprint with no shield recharge? It’s akward!
-ground pound is just not halo! Part of the appeal of halo is trying to make your spartan do awsome stuff. Now it’s all being done for you.
-all of these additions create balancing issues that just make it not FEEL like halo. Has anyone else noticed how your jump height has been reduced to make clamor more nesasary?
-there are some other miner things that need tweaking like auto aim, map glare and audio cues, etc. but I’m sure those will find their sweet spot.
-before you lash out at me, -Yoink!- kissers, just know that the point of the beta and this thread is to find what is messed up. It’s about making this game better than what it currently is.
-On a positive note, I had fun playing mcc New Years eve and was pleasantly surprised by the fixes to halo 4. I hadn’t played it since I got frustrated by the game ruining weapon drops and perk drops and sold it. Maybe I can lure my freinds and family back to halo.
Alright, here we go…
-
If this doesn’t feel like Halo to you, don’t play it, go play TMCC or Reach
-
I’m not kissing 343i’s yoink, I think Bungie made better games, but they’re just trying to appeal to the newer generation. And that’s great, let the kids have something to love that was loved by others, too. So, lay off 343, they’re doing ok.
-
ADAPT. If you hate people thrusting away, just throw a grenade, or learn the maps better. Thrusting can work to your advantage too, use it. Jump height lower? So what, just less people to ninja you. If you still hate it, see #1.
Stop complaining, the Bungie era is over and Halo will never be the same.

I hear you. I always go through a period with “the new Halo” where I hate it and am not adapting quickly to the changes. But with many different versions of Halo now behind us, I can say that eventually I get used to the changes - some become innocuous, others I actually learn to enjoy. Right now I absolutely despise Guardians (in beta form), but once the game launches I’ll take more time to learn it’s (admittedly odd) ways, and this will no longer be the end-of-world situation it is now.
Halo is whatever the current version of Halo is. You can choose to play or not, or play something else, but these arguments that “this isn’t Halo,” or “Halo is dead,” or “343 has ruined Halo,” are disallowing the developer any opportunity to evolve the game, find new audience members, or stretch their creative wings.
A few thoughts:
-I didn’t mean to post this in the halo 4 forum but at least it was read by someone. Either way I really don’t care where it ended up.
-critical thinking is important for personal growth as well as having meaningful conversations that give others respect that they need.
-as much as I love bungie, I don’t have any hate for 343. I would like for them to be a successful studio. The fact is they aren’t doing great. The halo brand is in a nose dive and that’s not good for a any fan of the series.
-kitchen aid mixers are wonderfull. They have been around forever and still bring joy to woman all over the world. They have made small changes here and there, added new attachments and yet the mechanical operation of the mixer has stayed the same. Genious!

“Nose dive” is a pretty dire assessment. Halo sells well. Still. Not as well as Halo 3, but the gaming landscape is very different now than it was then, and I don’t think it is in anyway fair to say that lower sales of Reach and H4 are strictly because “Halo is dead,” or “343 ruined Halo.”
Halo is what Halo is. Not what it was. Not what we would like it to be. What it is.
Still not sure if “mixer brings joy to women all over the world” is misogynist or not???
