im not sure how 343 is compiling all our opinions and thoughts on this beta, but I think it would be great if there were some very focused surveys designed by 343 for our beta feedback.
at the moment I feel like I’m just talking and mildly debating to forum goers.
edit.
We have seen some really good ideas on these forums and I am sure the folks over at 343 have considered many alternatives* to things such as sprint, button mapping, look sensitivity, map lighting, grenade pushing, ranking xp, etc. The key here is alternatives.*
eg.
Controller layouts
a) Do you like the controller layouts we have provided you in the beta?
Yes
No
b) Were you able to find a controller layout that fit your halo needs effectively?
I found the perfect layout for my halo needs.
I found some decent layouts, but I would have liked to make a few adjustments.
I could not find a controller layout that fit my halo needs effectively.
c) How would you like to see the controller layouts improved?
Add more controller layout choices.
Provide the ability to adjust/swap buttons within each controller layouts.
Complete custom button mapping.
The controller layouts are fine, leave them as they are.
Here is where we really start to make a difference by offering our logical preferences rather than our shortsighted attitudes.
I believe Waypoint is 343i’s primary means of communication with their community, which is so many different levels of wrong that it could be blamed on North Korea. They could get more concentrated and certainly more intelligent feedback from Halo Archive.

agreed. It seems that a lot of people are complaining about change because they are scared, so it is pretty hard for 343i to get honest feed back even with a survey
I vote no kill cam or at least an option to turn it off.
I also vote that there is more love for Australian gamers.
I haven’t been able to find a game in the second week of the beta yet and haven’t had the pleasure of trying out the Hydra.
The visuals need to be a little cleaner, especially with the whole competitive multiplayer push.
Other then that, the gameplay itself feels really good to me.
I was pleasantly surprised with how well the game works with all the abilities.
I feel they are fair, well as far as the beta goes, in that not one thing is over powered.
Hit response for some rifles is a little off and the same goes for the Spartan charge attack.
I love it so far and I can’t wait for the full game release.
I also think 343 should stop apologising for making a game that is good but has a few people complaining about it.
Although, they should definitely apologise for getting everyone’s hopes up for the MCC and I think the compensation is fair.
I HAVE A SUGGESTION, FOLKS.
ALSO, MY CAPS LOCK MIGHT BE BROKEN.
I kid. But I do have a suggestion! 343i could turn the Multiplayer Beta client into a platform to deliver a survey to only those who had beta access. I propose a 30-50 question survey with comments sections to type various concerns after 5 or 10 on each subject, but really any direct question-to-response is good here in any amount.
Take this survey, leave it up for one full 7-day period after the Beta ends and then put it up on general Waypoint for a week. Weigh these two sets of responses knowing that one set required actual access to the Beta to fill out and the other did not, adjust accordingly.

It makes sense to do this if we truly are testing the game. Without a formal response/survey for our experiences in the beta we re simply demoing a game 11 months in advance.
I can only imagine the nightmare it would be for whoever at 343 is sifting through all the hate posts and vomit inducing responses on these forums.
I believe this is a step in the right direction, but the questions are far too simple and offer no real alternatives. Simple yes or no questions on such broad gameplay mechanics do not really solve much because many of these inclusions are not going to be removed from the final product.
