Halo 5 Beta Ranking System Inquiry

Hello all, I have some questions about the Halo 5 ranking system. I was under the impression that it was a true skill system but after playing the beta for a while it seems to just be a win/loss system. How exactly does this work? I’m pretty good at Halo 5 so far and I have a positive K/D. I am more often than not at the top of the score board but am also one of those players that seems to always get placed on bad teams. I know this may seem like a excuse but it is really annoying when I’m doing well and the other players on my team aren’t while the other team seems to be very well rounded. I also notice that people quit a lot. Because of this I have more losses than wins and its made my true skill rank suffer. On top of that I am not entirely sure how the game allocates the true skill points and I was wondering if anyone on here knew. For example I won one match as the MVP and my rank went up by 4 points. The next match I lost, but was still the MVP and my score went down by 13 points! What gives? I had a string of wins where I went up by about 10 points each. I lost once and went down 15, then won again and went up 5. The last match I played I lost but was the MVP and the teams were neck in neck it turned into a sudden death match and my team lost and my rank went down by 20 points! Idk why I care about rank so much, but can anyone explain this to me? From what I’ve seen it just seems to be random. As a side-note I am pretty consistent among each of my matches. Sorry if I came across as pretentious or douchey and thank you for taking the time to reply!

Yeah see this is what I am advocating for it should be a performance review of ourselves, not those around us.

It seems to be linked to W/L way more than KD. I like the idea of points awarded for KD with a multiplier for wins

I suggest doing something similar as DICE does with BF. Skill, K/D, win/loss ratio

It should be 100% based on W/L.

+1 it’s a team game… Stick to free for all when it releases for individual ranking

I agree, the CSR is really inaccurate on how well we play. It should penalize us for having a bad K/D

I disagree, as the True skill/ranking system is supposed to tell the rank of an individual player, and not the team. For instance in a situation where you go 2/10 (K/D) And your team wins, your rank will go up, but would result in a false reflection of player skill.

the ranking system blows hard cow dung. why not match me up with people of my calibur so i can win instead of giving me 3 year old babies that cant play.

Plz read my forum post. Almost said the exact same thing as you. I totally agree with u 1000%. The ranking is unjust. I feel like someone at 343 is laffing meniacly at the ranking system because they know we’re ripping our hair out
