I’ve played only 11 games of the beta so far but one thing that is for certain is that map control is pretty much worthless in this game. In the 11 games I played my team won every game we played and it was never because of map control. Actually on my second game on Truth we had control of pink tower and it didn’t help at all. I started just peek shooting from DMR window in one of the bases and destroyed. I used that strat every game after and we continued to win. Players continue to make pushes on power positions easily bc of sprint. Players continue to go into open areas where they should quickly die only to sprint into a corner and hide until shields recharge. The game is fun but it has no chance at being a competitive game like 1-3. I rarely died bc another player outshot me and I routinely died bc a player got the jump on me with an AR that melts people and has a reticule the size of the Atlantic. I also don’t know how long it will hold players attention. Ive played 11 games and I was bored after game 6. The game just holds your hand every step of the way. The maps are designed with clamber in mind and that’s a waste. Clamber is worthless and I never crouch jumped at any point in time over 11 games bc instead of having to time your crouch just right now you can just hold down good ole A button and it does it for it. Not good at staffing? Don’t worry hit your thruster button to make the other guy miss and change the tide. Can’t land that jumping head shot? Well here’s stabilizers to make it a little easier and you don’t have to press any button for that if you don’t want. It can just happen for you. Don’t have any awareness at all? You’re in luck the game tells you when important weapons are spawning and where the other players are.
Welp I guess it’s back to MCC. Hopefully they fix parties soon.
