Halo 5 Being Just Completely Broken

I’m having tons of issues with Halo 5. As is my brother and all my friends playing. The BIGGEST being how when we buy gold packs, it takes out 10,000 REQ but doesn’t give us the pack. It does this probably once every three buys, sometimes more frequent. I’ve literally taken a list of ALL the armor, all the skins, powerups, etc I have, then when it happens, check my gear; I never have anything new when it happens. I also only have about half the armor but whenever I buy gold packs, it does the refund thing and the rarest thing I get is something of “uncommon” quality. Another issue with REQ packs I’m having is I’m being rewarded things I already have. I keep getting different variants of weapons like the battle rifle and DMR, but I already have them. The REQ system is totally broken and I’m hoping someone has a fix because the past 3 times I’ve asked for help, someone just locks the forum and does nothing.

Also, I’m having TONS of screen freezes. Endless. End of game, beginning of game, mid game. I’ve tried different copies of Halo 5 as well as different xbox’s with different Halo 5 copies, and have even tried different networks. Still happens. Probably about once every two or three games. On top of that, I’ve experienced immense lag. Game breaking lag.

Other issues include spontaneous suicide, literally just falling over dead with no one around. It doesn’t even read as a kill, says I kill myself. Also having issues with infection, mainly being I often spawn as the ONLY Alpha zombie, but still have a full game. Then zombies spawning right behind me, on top of me, INSIDE me (killing me on the spot), etc etc.

Can we please get on a fix for these? Especially the REQs?

Forgot to mention, also keep getting thrown into in progress warzone games. Of course, I use a boost. But 90% of the time I join, I’m not even one second in and the game ends as a loss and I just waste my boost.

When it comes to the loadout weapons, all variants are coded as being their own unique weapon, hence why you’re getting so many Assault Rifles / Battle Rifles / SMGs / DMRs (with different scopes / attachments) for the past while.

As far as other things go, certain items cannot be unlocked through normal means or are now impossible to unlock now. Some unlocks are tied to your in-game progression (completing commendations, leveling up your character, etc). Athlon Champion, HCS Contender skins, and the team-specific skins and emblems can only be purchased through exclusive packs with real currency. Others like the Beta Recruit / Star / Prime emblems, the previous Arena season emblems, and the Challenger set are now impossible to get.

Try playing on a wired connection. You’ll see vastly improved performance compared to Wi-Fi.

Some spawns for the infected are usually predicable (often on the opposite side of the map away from the survivors), so it often comes down to being aware in high-traffic points. Also, can you get some footage of one of your spontaneous suicides? That seems very puzzling.

Boosts need time to “process” themselves so they’ll come into play for the match. Try putting on a boost as soon as possible, and not at the last second.

Hey OP, you won’t have lost any items. What happens here is that the opening animation for the packs gets skipped over but the items do still get deposited in your REQ inventory. You need to hard reset your console to see the updated inventory in-game, alternatively you check for new items here on Waypoint: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo-5-guardians/xbox-one/requisitions/categories/customization?ownedOnly=False

As stated, I’ve taken a list before and checked after and have nothing new. I’ve presented this issue many times with tons of video evidence, yet always get the same response which doesn’t solve the issue and THOUSANDS of wasted req.

Not the issue

Just got the DMR certification. Again.

Been using Ultra Rare Random Vehicle REQs, keep getting the standard mantis. Could 343 possibly give me a real answer? Instead of an automated one that doesn’t resolve my issue?

OP (which just means “original poster” and saves time for typing), please do not bump your own threads (by that I mean don’t make back-to-back posts before other people have a chance to add new posts). I understand your distress with technical issues but bumping is against the rules so even if this is a serious issue, you can’t bump.

Waypoint is not a customer service location; 343i doesn’t have dedicated customer service like that. Sometimes they respond to threads like these but not often. If you have a pressing issue you may be better off tweeting at @ske7ch or @Unyshek on Twitter. Alternatively you could try your hand at the Halo subreddit, as 343i representatives occasionally post there.

I’m not sure where you got the idea that 343i doesn’t approve of videos. As long as you aren’t posting videos to throw shade at people or accuse them of cheating, then videos are fine. If you have video evidence of your REQ system issue, that would be very helpful and you should link to it.

I posted questions about a game mode, but not these issues. 343 responds to this issue with an identical message that is clearly a copy/paste message in which they keep “OP” because they don’t even read the error occurring. Why doesn’t 343 have customer support? Isn’t that kind of vital? Important? Or does 343 simply not value customers enough to provide support for glitches many people are having.

Monitors are not employees; they’re volunteers. And often times the issues with the REQ system are in fact solved with a hard reboot, which is why that is the default answer.

I can’t answer on why 343i doesn’t have dedicated customer support. That would be something to ask 343i themselves; you can do that over twitter. However 343i do read the forums and though they may not respond often, they take note of major issues.

I’ve looked over your entire post history and never saw any indication of you posting links to a video and getting that thread locked or otherwise moderated. So I’m not sure where you’re getting that impression from. Either way, I’m telling you that posting a video that corroborates your story about the REQ issues you’ve been experiencing is perfectly fine.

So 343i puts even less effort into it as I thought? Also did you look at MY account? I’ve had TONS of stuffed locked/removed/marked as “spam”. Honestly convinced you never even looked? I’ve even been banned for a week before for attempting to get my answers (REQ). I posted the issue once a week because no one was resolving it (I admit, that was a bit much) but it was still never solved. Its like these monitors are scared of people who want them to help with their issues. Like, “pls dont make me do stuf :(”

Also I’ve tried everything to get the REQs to work, including reboots. Doesn’t work.

Alright, this is starting to derail off topic. We’re not gonna discuss your moderation history in public (that’s against the rules too); if you have concerns about it, take it to private messages. I can assure you though that any punishment you’ve received were due to rule breaking.

You’ve been advised of the actions to take. You can post a link to any video evidence you have. If you don’t have it, consider recording the next instance of the REQ issues you encounter.

Edit: yeah that link was not to video evidence of the REQ issues you described. I’m locking this down because it’s getting out of hand.
