343 I like you, but your punishments for quitting is probably the worst I have ever seen in a game. This whole quit once and get banned for 20 min needs to go. It’s not like I’m a chronic quitter. I quit maybe once every 100 matches or so and I get banned after one DNF of any kind. All banning people does is make them not want to play halo. My game crashed and now I’m banned for 20 min. So I’m going to go play fallout 4. I’m not going to boot halo back up for the rest of the night. With some people my experience might lead to the banned person to never boot halo back up again. I get it you don’t want people quitting. How about instead of prohibiting people playing, how about you take away something that will actually cause then to regret quitting, like their xp or req points.

It seems you regret quitting now. I’d link you the ban thread, but Nooga already took care of that.
You still quit. And for that you deserve to be banned. And if it happens when you get disconnected then it’s still your fault for quitting other games.
I’ve yet to be banned. I don’t quit games at all. And when I get disconnected I don’t get banned because I don’t quit games at all. If you don’t quit you can’t be banned.
You deserve the ban. Shut up and stop complaining. What about the players whose game you ruin by quitting? How do you think it’s fair for you, (and others), not to get punished for quitting and probably ruining the other peoples game. I call for harsher punishments for quitters. Longer bans. It’s what you all deserve.

If they did that, the players who get their ego bruised every time they start losing and quit in the middle of the game would immediately be able to start another match. Right now, they can’t do that. It may seem rather harsh, but that is a much better deterrent than losing XP or RP.
I have played over 2000 matches of Halo 5 since it launched, and still haven’t found a sufficient reason to quit in the middle of a game. Is it coincidence that I have never been banned? Definitely not.
People aren’t getting banned enough every warzone match that looks like a farming match more than half the players quit making it become a farming match for sure.
Ive quit a few match(less than 1%) if my team mates are betraying too much but I’ve never been banned.

I’ve seen a recent player in Warzone that quit 37 out of 52 matches with no ban. It’s one of the biggest plagues I’ve seen in MM and agree, it fuels uneven matches

My suspicion (nothing confirmed mind you) is that it is based on a combination of percentage of matches you quit, how close they are together, and how many of them you were winning/losing.

Maybe before you get all tough with me you should read the entire post you over zealous -Yoink-. I said my game crashed and I got banned. I never rage quit. Sometimes it’s life stuff, sometimes I get booted, and sometimes a friend invited me. This last time my game crashed. How is that my fault? I’d rather people lose tea or xp or hell actually reset the bans every once in a while.

Read the entire post. I didn’t quit.

Temporary bans…is one thing but 343i system for H5 online is broken. Friendly fire shouldn’t belong online, does nothing but ruin the online multiplayer and it doesn’t help matters when 343i’s servers are a broken mess. It’s happened to me a few times where the servers decided to DNF me at suspicious moments when I’m doing well, well the betrayal system is a joke when players are running in front of me with the hammer, it’s bad enough that it can be impossible to tell what’s going on because the radar is broken.

Any further questions, OP?

Being disconnected a few times…is one thing but the OP was clearly saying that they got ‘disconnected’, not quitting on purpose. I’d be surprised if anyone who played the game had never been disconnected since the servers are pretty bad. I’ve played 1458 matches+ and yet I’ve been disconnected a fair amount of times…un-voluntarily, I’ve never been banned on H5 as far as I can remember but that doesn’t mean the servers are reliable since some on some days it can happen frequently and the REQ system has been down countless times, I tend to turn off H5 when the servers start acting up because I know that if I continued to play then I’d probably be penalised for something 343i haven’t been bothered to fix. I’ve even seen the game crash enough times so I can verify that what the OP says is true about the game being unstable because it has happened to me a fair amount of times in the past to me too.

All playing with uneven teams does is make me not want to play Halo.

I think the main issue is forced kicks from the servers due to server issues. The disconnects could have easily been partly solved if the game had bothered to give the players a windowed time oeriod to reconnect to the game since the servers can be unreliable sometimes.

So when you say, “I quit maybe once every 100 matches or so and I get banned after one DNF of any kind” I was to assume you were lying?
i lost connection to a game when it finished and it banned me why do people get banned when they lose connection
i don’t like being locked into games, because as OP said, life stuff happens, but because halo 5 is pretty much ranked only. the ban hammer is justified.
and there is no Jip. so you just wrecked the morale of your teammates. which in turn makes their lives more stressful. which makes them want to quit, and now there is a dominio effect.
i feel like there is no reason for someone to get banned in the games social playlist though… that is a little overboard

> i lost connection to a game when it finished and it banned me why do people get banned when they lose connection
because disconnecting, and pushing the quit button, or closing halo mid game. are all rightfully viewed as quiting.
The banhammer seems fine. I got banned once for accepting a game invite in a pregame lobby once and got pretty tilted, but 10 minutes after DAYS played seen like a miniscule price to pay to keep teammates from quitting.
