Ello!
So, I just resumed playing H5’s multiplayer, for the singular reason that one of my mates wanted to play, due to the recent inclusion of the Doubles Date game-mode.The first game we played was quite a bit of fun, I ended up going twenty-three and zero, all is well. The second game we played we did just as well, some would say too well, and an opposing player quit, leaving it 2v1. About a minute later, it kicked me from the match for reasons unknown, be it network connectivity, or to balance the teams, although I have never seen the latter occur. The worst part is, it banned me after it dropped me. For forty-six minutes. No joke.
Now, I am not a serial quitter, and I had not played in about a month. So, in summary: It was the second match I played, and it banned me after it kicked me. Now, regardless of the circumstances and whatever gripes I have about the game, are we really at the point where players are getting banned after after quitting one match? Look, we’ve all quit before, and one shouldn’t have to explain themselves, but does it have to be so extreme? Feel quite free to post and comment, as I’m curious to know if this has happened to others. Cheers.
Yea its happening to me and some clan mates sometimes too, thats why all i do is play with my group and i only play like 6 games a day maybe
I’m a little confused on your issue. Did you DC because you yourself left or did you lag out?
EDIT Because I’ve lagged out multiple times (because college wifi is turds) and have even quit a few times and have never been banned.
10 DNFS out of your last 40 matches. 3 of which were today. C’mon mate, these threads are getting dull.

You’ve had 25 DNFs in under a week.

So I shouldn’t point out the fact that your last two games were both DNFs?
- 2/14 - 2/15 - 3 DNF
- 2/13 1 DNFIt’s like these people aren’t even trying to lie anymore.
Problem is when looking at game history you don’t know if the dnf was a quit or he got dropped. OP has probably straight up quit enough to hit the ban threshold, but people do get kicked quite a bit.

Well that’s not the problem. I fully expected people to delve in my Service Record. I live in New Zealand, and while I’m not speaking for other people, my network connectivity is… well it’s a thing. The problem is is I got banned directly after being dropped, and most of my supposed DNFs are due to lagging out. No fabricating here, I have no reason to. It’s a problem. A problem that I felt was worthy enough to merit it’s own post.
Also, one of the things you won’t learn from shadowing people’s game history is context.

Match connectivity seemed fine at the time(a rare occurrence), I did not intentionally leave, and then it just abruptly dropped me, and banned me immediately after.

lol people forget we can see their game history.
Quitters deserve longer bans
I was just banned at the end of a game. The game ended, my team won and then I was kicked from the game and banned.
Very strange!

Not strange 343 is just terrible, yeah lets out on a system that doesnt quite work. Oh you won a game but dc/quit the last one heres a ban. Seriously way to screw it up 343. 3 steps forward 43 steps backwards.
Extreme. Not broken. Halo 5 should serve as an example to all team based multiplayer games. Quitters should not have the liberty of quitting. They should be punished swiftly with no mercy even if that system has its hick ups. For the greater good, quitters need to be banned…period.

Yeah no, sorry but its a video game, othr games dont have this stupid feature abd no one complains about quitters its just the sad halo fanboys. Sorry but if I want to quit because something comes up that i have to take care of and get “punished” for it. Sorry i might as well give my money to fame that doesnt have an asinine system in place. It didnt work in reach it doesnt work now.

I agree with you. However, my intentions for posting were not to bring attention to those who quit, but rather to call out the fact that people shouldn’t be struck with a ban due to internet hiccups. Things would be okay if there were some system that could discern a disconnection/lag-out from outright quitting.
I’ve literally never been banned in H5. I’ve also never heard from people that they got unreasonably banned. It’s usually fanatics like OP who exaggerate their rage-quits and are salty about the banhammer.
