1) We know VERY little about campaign as of now. I was super hyped for all Halos except for this one, because I know very little about the story. All we know is that Chief is rogue and Locke is a new character. That isn’t enough information to get me hyped like I was for Halo 4, or Halo 3, or Halo 2.
1.5) I am slightly worried about Halo 5’s campaign and story because the lead writing department hasn’t proven to be as good as it could be, click this sentence for more details. I would like to make sure 343i is focusing on Campaign just as much as multiplayer.
2) Every Halo at E3 focused on the campaign. Halo 4 had a great E3 2012, showing the new campaign innovation (the Prometheans and their guns are a new innovative concept to Halo). Halo 2 at E3 was amazing too, showing the new campaign innovations like dual wielding and vehicle jacking. It looked totally revolutionary. That campaign alone was far more revolutionary and complex than any generic FPS campaign that would come out today (Battlefield/CoD).
3) Halo is different from most FPS games like CoD and Battlefield because it actually has a good singleplayer, story, and soundtrack. The Campaigns in Halo are the core experience or at least just as important as the multiplayer.
4) For Halo 5: Guardians to compete with other games shown at E3, it needs to show that it has a powefull singleplayer to get people to buy the game as well, Uncharted 4 will be singleplayer focused, Zelda/Mario/Metroid will be singeplayer focused. To compete with other platforms, Halo 5: Guardians needs to show of its single player and that it is different from most generic FPS singleplayer.
5) Singleplayer is just as important as Multiplayer in Halo. When the first Halo game was shown at mac world, it was all singleplayer. Multiplayer was just an aditional bonus mode to Halo CE. The story and lore of Halo is it’s core.
6) to show off Halo 5: Guardians best graphics, the campaign is the best place to demonstrate it. Halo has always been known for its incredible graphics (in console standards). Halo’s jump to next gen should shine. The graphical difference between Halo 2 and Halo 3, should be the same graphical difference between Halo 4 and Halo 5. Show off the campaign’s graphics!
Multiplayer is important, but with the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta, and all the current Halo 5: Guardians vidocs we have seen up to now have been nothing but Multiplayer. To balance it out, I want to see Halo 5: Guardians’ E3 2015 presentation 100% Campaign and 0% Multiplayer.
I hope 343i reads this, and makes the campaign the star of E3 2015’s spotlight.
