Halo 5 Armour Customisation

Theres something thats been bothering me a little. It seems that the shoulders aren’t individually customisable in halo 5. They weren’t in MCC and i assumed that was because of the cross game and how ambitious the project was. They weren’t in the beta and i assumed thats down to the fact it was a beta. Now however after the warzone menu leaks i noticed there wasn’t an option for each shoulder, or legs or anything. Is this because they just didn’t go into that category in the menu? or its a feature to be added soon? or they’re just not doing it (lame).

I know its nothing major but really how hard is it to do? I’ve always rated the ability to have one shoulder different to the other, big hefty on the leading shoulder and small on the covered one. The shoulder pad models are in the game regardless, why not have them interchangeable? Its always been that way and its not exactly like taking that feature out is an evolution in the game.

Tried looking for info but can’t find anything, anyone know what the deal is?

I believe but I’m not sure that customization will only be body, helmet, visor.

It kinda sucks instead they gave us more armor skins ( same armor just different patterns) they did give us the ability to change and customize our assassinations so they did make up for it in a way but still

Correct you are, sir. The amount of armor suits available is the justification for reducing the individual piece customization.

Well, they said that the limited customization allows them more creative freedom with each armor set. When you think about it, that might actually be pretty logical. When you have H4 style customization, every armor piece you make has to be compatible with every other armor in the game. Take note of how Halo 4 had a bunch of Chest and shoulder pieces that looked way too similar. Perhaps this was an issue brought on by them trying to make every piece fit well with everything without clipping and looking awful. I already can look at some of H5’s armor sets and can see armors that wouldn’t be able to fit together without clipping. So their decision does have some sense to it. Either way, I’m already over it.

Aw heck i don’t mind the steps back they took in the costumization department.

Ever since the very first second i chose my spartan’s appearance in Halo 2, i knew it was settled back then. Fortune hit me, i chose it forever should be Good ol’e Mark VI with the Olive Green (that’s why i get called the Wannabe master chief). Obviously i couldn’t do anything else then select the elite to change character back then, but when Halo 3 came out- It was Mark VI all the way too. Reach Is the exception where i use V shoulders (For obvious reasons).

It’s just skins and armor sets, visors and helmets now. Not the world’s biggest dress up, but hey: as soon as you’re in-game cracking skulls and gaining sweet victories, what does lack of armor costumization really do then? Cosmetic at best. Atleast we don’t have to look at anything hideous like players made in Reach!

Black visor, robo arm, HUGE shoulders, and anything expensive from the top row. Looked horrible, lack of simplicity.

From what has been said it seems that rather than providing a handful of armor sets with completely interchangeable parts, 343i decided to make a much larger number of armor sets with fewer individually customizable pieces, which frankly may be just as good (or better) as each suit will be designed without having to worry about whether every single piece would work with each and every other piece of armor in the game, which should allow more flavor and creative freedom in the armor designs. Not to mention they will continue adding customization items to be earned via REQ packs after launch.

i just wish they will do what they did in reach (no im not a reach kid) but i liked the armor stuff there. so much to pick from changing wrists heads add things to heads chest and maybe im wrong but i think you could change stuff to the legs aswell. I also really liked the fact that you earned credits and bought armors instead of unlocking.

To be frank, I don’t care if they give us a million new sets, I won’t be happy until I can make MY set. I made a character for a story using the Halo 4 armor sets, and all the pieces to make said character are in this game, but I can’t ever make them in the game because we’re not allowed to customize the way I(and maybe we) want.

The customization will be helmet, chest, visor, assassinations, stances, and emblem. If I missed anything feel free to correct me

As long as I get the armor like the Fotus, Helljumper, Mark V, Mark VI, Noble, and Centurion, I think I’ll be happy even if the customization options are somewhat limited.

Ain’t that the truth.

So am I going to be walking around then see a clone of myself across the map on Valhalla then have to spawn-camp him to show dominance?

Or are we going to be able to keep it civil because he has a different wrist band than me?
