I’m still a major fan of the look from Halo Legends - The Package / Forward unto Dawn. Large, menacing, appropriately tanky but since it was already used I guess they can’t use it again.
Would certainly love to see it selectable in customization though.
spartan armor should have pouches on the exterior, it looks better aesthetically and it makes sense logically.

Not a fan of tht particular render, looks a bit too thin and cluttered to me. But I see where you’re coming from. And I have good news. Have a look at Linda/Kelly (can’t remember which. The brown one) 's armour from Escalations. Add that to the antennae and such on the body of the chest piece f some of the in-game armour renders. You may get your wish.

If the render was like the ones we’ve seen for Halo 5, it would be flawless.

It’s not my favorite armor. That helmet is my least favorite just because it doesn’t look like 26th century human military hardware. And it looks thin and cluttered with pouches and stuff.
But the most important thing is a helmet. It needs a different helmet.
I think the armor in Halo 5 should have variation, so the primary color is your team color, and the secondary color be one of your Spartan’s colors.
Or maybe make some armor pieces darker or grey to make it look better.

This. They should base more of their designs off that armor.

I would totally agree with you, OP. That would look bad -Yoink-. I don’t really think the whole “cartoony” Spartan aspect of Halo is too appealing. It needs to go.

I feel in halo 4 all the spartans looked like power rangers and aliens. This armor looks like it would actually help in combat.
But this is my favorite representation of spartans
