HALO 5 ARMOR DISCUSSION

The armor in halo 5 looks toy-ish and almost has a plastic feel to them. I think a way they could fix this is to tone down the light reflection on armor, it would give a more matte color rather than fresh plastic. Not only this but when you stand in an area that has no light your Spartan will have a white outline around it. I don’t know if it’s made to prevent camping in shadows or just plain laziness, it just looks tacky and takes the emersion out of the game. The armor itself just doesn’t look realistic. In halo reach the armor looked not only better than past or future armor designs, it had a realistic militarized look. You were also able to customize your shoulders, knee pads, and even your wrist/utility. I get that halo 5 is a faster pace game and people won’t see it like they did in reach and halo 3. In halo 5 they have around 280 pieces of armor for one category which is mostly just the same armor with different white lines on them. This system is also extremely disorganized. In halo reach each helmet had its own tab with the different variants inside. The way it is just thrown into a pot makes it very hard for people with most of the armor hard to find the armor they want. The way you obtain armor can take lots of time to get the armor you want. I believe they should bring back the credit system and even mix in achievement based unlocks too. This would make it easier to get the armor you desire. I believe that req weapons and mods are perfect as of now. I believe that the req packs should only give out multiplayer based cards, which would mean taking out armor from the loot pot. I also think the gel layer underneath the armor should have and toggle option on color or standard black. I also think that team color should be removed, this would give players individuality when playing competitive matches. Friendly players have their tag over their head and when the reticle is on them it shows green instead of red. If this couldn’t solve the problem of telling friend from foe, there is a simple answer, turn off friendly fire. Halo reach had an option that if you moved onto a player’s gamer tag it would show their Spartan and in halo 5 you must press x then go to the roster then click on their name to see a large image of their Spartan. What do you think of this? Do you agree?

Tried to break it down into the main points for slightly better readability. Added some grammar corrections and other slight edits as well.

Agreed. In some cases it definitely loses that “armor” look. Interesting enough the new DOOM had the option to make your armor look “dirty” and “worn” which I though t was great. The menu/interface for armor select I would whole hearty agree that it is terrible. Tough to find exactly what I’m looking for without pretty much selecting each one to get a good look if that’s the one I want.

It’s more that the spartan doesn’t darken when in most shadows.

And why? why Colored Undersuits, even in FFA modes?

FFA ranked, Firefight?
