Alright guys, what do we want after we experienced halo 4 armor…? Do tell:
Armor which looks actually useful.
There were some good ones in h4, but there were also those no-goes. Maybe not as bright and shining as in h4.
H5G Lockes armor and the one in the beta trailer look promising.
Also I’d like some classic armors to return, like recon , MK variants, gungnir, probably rogue, etc
I’m confident that there’ll be some badass new armors in H5G, though.
A hybrid between Reach and H4. Having 2-3 iterations of the same armor piece would allow for an extensive boost in customization and expression. I do think that a lot of the stuff in Reach was overdone, though. Having a couple pouches (not twenty), supplemental (and useful… I’m looking at you random helmet rhino horns…) armor pieces like the collar and wrist pieces, wrist utilities, specific pieces that can be customized (knees, elbows, waist, etc), and maybe having a few special items that can only be unlocked by commendations or achievements. Stuff like a knife on your shoulder for mastering assassinations, a grenade on your belt for mastering that grenade’s commendation, an energy sword on your thigh opposite your sidearm for completing all the missions on Sanghelios solo legendary, etc. These could be in a specific category so that you can’t have more than one or two on you at a time.
Also, I want to see a return of the Reach/Waypoint armor unlocks. With the MCC coming out, it would be the perfect clean slate for them to do something along these lines.
The armour should be similar to Reach but still toned down, a lot of the high level armour in Reach all sort blended into one bulky blur to me. The more realistic look they had going was great though.
The undersuit should always be black and the armour should cover as much of the body as possible, not at all like Halo 4.
Good ideas guys. I was NOT a fan of halo 4 armor at all, it didn’t even look human.
From the look of the Beta Trailer, the armour looks more like armour than wetsuits with some metal plating (looking at you Halo 4).
However, and I know I’m probably going to get some flame for this, but I think there is a little too much customisation. Or maybe it’s because the pieces weren’t dissimilar enough to noticeable.
When I’m running around in Halo 4, I can barely tell armour sets apart besides the obvious ones like Fotus or EVA. This could also be down to the fact that there is a lot more detail, unlike Halo 3 where it was really easy to distinguish players.
I think with Halo 5 they need to cut back on the samey, throwaway armours and focus on the armour types that are distinguishable and stand out, like Venator, Scout and EOD.
Also, I personally wouldn’t mind if they scaled it back to just helmet, shoulders and chest. Mainly because other than Fotus or MK VI, there just wasn’t the variation like there was with they others. But like I say, if they can make them more visibly different, then I’d be game.
As a list of what I’d like to see return;
Full Suits:
Mark VI(Halo2A), Mark VI(Halo5), Scout(4), Venator(4), Recon(3), EOD(4), CQB(3) and Security(3).
Helmets:
Warmaster, Ranger, Fotus and Mark Vb.
After that, 343 can throw in a few new designs, and I’d be happy.
An actual black on the color pallet, 100% black undersuit, codpieces, options for armor quality, functional-looking armor, ODST armor with a proper helmet and shoulder pauldrons, less sets that are more distinguishable (Halo 3’s Mark VI, Recon, and EOD, CEA’s Mark V, Reach’s default, Commando and full GUNGNIR, Halo 4’s Recruit and Venator), option to port graphically updated player models from previous games, maybe facial customization for IDs in place of those Spartan Tag things, prosthetic limbs for either/both arms and no limits to specific armor permutations, and an equal amount of customization options for Elites (because Elites must come back).
It’d also be neat to see some Brute or Elite-inspired armor for Spartans. And maybe a human-designed combat harness for Elites.

Oh, like Mass Effect or EVE Online, that’s actually a really cool idea.
Armor that looks useful, absolutely no unnecessary antiaesthethic details and covers enough suit to be useful when the shields are down. Soft and clean design, pragmatic visor (not just a camera and a screen inside the helmet) and articulable enough to allow wide and easy movements.
Now, for customization, I’d like that paint (camo) and armor parts were separate concepts.

You have excellent tastes.
Oh, uhhh…Basically a blend of Halo 3 and Halo: Reach armor with Reach attachments and such.
Oh, and make ALL helms apply the visor color, I don’t care if Venator has lights on it, make the damn lights colored.
Also, make armor skins separate from the armor itself.
More unique, practical armor sets would be cool. Just less anime and pointless armor pieces xD
I’d like to see armor based off reaches. I thought that game nailed the armor
Want 343 evolve from reach armor in combination with halo 3 uniqueness and halo 4’s customization options.
And bring back CQB, I don’t want it gone in halo 5 and further on.
Well, obviously, I want the H4 design of the Recon in Halo 5, b/c of its “true” and “sleek” appearance. However, with skins, I would like to see an option where we can choose a variety of them. Not to jump overboard, but have something like Weapon skins in COD, where u pick one weapon and you have a variety to choose from. That, should be done with the armors, b/c the “exclusive skin for specific armors” was ridiculous. Yet, I hope there is a lot to choose from, tbh.

This and this and this (we get along so well!)
And I know it seems like one of those weird visorless helmets but please for the love of God, bring back the Locus helmet. And pilot, we need pilot.
Another big thing id like, I think someone mentioned, was camouflage. The “skins” that were in h4 either made no sense, werent different enough, or the only cool ones were exclusives.
Recon (3)
Mark VI (2,4/5)
Locus (Full Set?)
Deadeye (Full Set?)
ODST (H3ODST)
Armor that looks like it was designed for human beings, and not some sort of alien species where the eyes are located under the right kneecap.
No one responsible for things like the Protector or Infiltrator helmets deserve gainful employment.
I want some of the armor designs we saw in Reach back. I loved the Commando armor there. The Halo 4 Commando armor? Not so much.

Nyessssssssssssss. I will forever want for pilot.
I would love more of a Halo Reach twist to armor, where you had base pieces like a helmet that you added attachments to. It’s a bit more ‘realistic’ since that’s how modern day forces operate, so why wouldn’t the future forces have the same concept? I’d also like to see actual skins that were there own category opposed to just certain pieces having a skin. Also, make the Spartans look human. 343 nailed the MC in campaign, but a lot of the Spartan IV armor looks too “exotic” and less human.
