Before I leave my feedback regarding Halo 5’s armor colors, let me preface by saying I know that there are bigger issues to worry about in the game, as I can already imagine some of the replies I’ll get on this topic. However, this is a bothersome part of the game so I figured I’d leave my feedback/ideas on it. (343i said they want Feedback, so hopefully they reply here :3)
Does anyone else think that Halo 5’s armor colors are quite garbage? I almost think that this is to blame for the graphics looking odd at points, often making Spartans look like they are made out of plastic. This is because the armor paints are too glossed and too light. Many colors also suffer from being bleached (i.e. the only Orange color looks like its been bleached).
Also worth noting is the omission of many armor colors that have been in Halo games since the beginning. Sage, Olive, Drab, Dark Purple, Orange, etc…. are all missing from the game. However, these colors were present in the Halo 5 Beta, which makes their omission even more perplexing. Mark IV and Mark V armors will be coming in future updates, yet we won’t be able to apply their fitting Olive armor color. 
So what can 343i do about this? They can reduce the glossiness of colors, and make them appear more worn and dark like previous Halo games. They can re-add some fan favorite armor colors that have been cut since the Halo 5 Beta. (this is probably the easiest solution, given that they were in game relatively recently.)
I’d like to hear your opinions on this matter, as I know I am not the only one who is bothered by this.

EDIT: Lots of folks are also requesting the ability to make undersuits black. After seeing photoshop images of this change, I can honestly say that this does wonders for the armor design. It really does help differentiate each armor set, because there is less blending between the undersuit and armor pieces. Example from the Mk. IV thread, not my photo. http://i.imgur.com/63ISvLG.png. 343i, please consider this change as well; it could quiet a lot of the people hating on your artists’ designs. 
Would be awesome to see a 343 response to this, as well. I’ve asked on Twitter before but never got acknowledged.

We really do need more options. It may be small, but those colors were always the most popular options. Just go play some Halo 2-4, so many rocking sage. Why they would get rid of it… well I blame the main mp designer.

I can’t find a color I really like anymore. I was always the classic olive-guy. The shades of green in H5 are terrible…now I’m some kind of brown and it still feels like planc C to me.

Agree! I just wanna look like the Chief again (Sage/Olive green please). And the black undersuit looks a lot better.
They will probably release more colors in req packs or something you have to buy
I believe at times when the Spartans seem like they have too much light on them and they appear to be glossy as well as parts of the maps, is so that they can maintain 60fps. 343i sacrificed detailed textures and such for 60fps.
I just really miss my dark purple
wish “ice” on Mk6 was the same light blue “ice” it is on every other armor set and not dark blue
Wow… Just the simple change of having a black undersuit makes that Mark IV armour look a million times better! You can easily distinguish the armour from the undersuit, and it looks like Halo armour. I don’t understand why 343i insists on sticking with these coloured undersuits that make everything look terrible. It really ruins the distinct look of Spartans.
Lets make this a thing!
I’ve never had a problem with the colored under suits, but I do have to say, making it black does make the armor look better.
I agree the customization is pretty good with all the armor types available, but i do wish they had just a few more colors to choose from as well as the customization of layering and delayering the emblems along with choosing the three colors and which color represented what part of the emblem individually.
Color seems like an easy thing to do right. They should simply have more tones available.
I miss my Dark Purple too. Check out my profile now. My Protector Armor turns that Pinky/Purp into a darker purple. True its not the key to the dark purple championship but its better than various versions of Pink.

Bringing back the Halo 5 Beta’s superior color choices along with having the ability to change undersuit colors would be an enormous step in the right direction in fixing Halo 5’s severely limited customization options.
Actually why am I getting the feeling Color will be made into cards for the Req Packs… I just jinxed it didn’t I.
Black undersuits look so much better and I miss being able to have purple armour…

It’d be cool if you could customize the color of the under suits along with the armor skin.

Exactly. why do we need 3 versions of pink, but no dark versions of purple?
