I don’t know if I am alone on this, but the team balancing in this game is garbage. Halo is supposed to be really competitive, but it is the complete opposite with this crap team balancing. I’ll hop into a game and we will utterly destroy the other team. I played team arena, strongholds, and we won 100-0. THE OTHER TEAM DIDN’T EVEN SCORE. That’s not how it should be! As much as I love to win, I also like a challenge. I can imagine the frustration the other team must have faced as they got owned. It just wasn’t even fair. It was like my team was created by Halo gods and the other team were 12 year olds playing halo for the first time. But I’m not always on the winning team oh no… sometimes my team is complete trash and the other team is amazing. It seems to switch every few games. I’ll go from super good team, to utter crap. It’s not right. This needs to be fixed 343 because it is so annoying. Warzone isn’t even fun to play, people just play it to get REQ points. Stop putting all the attention on Warzone and fix your “competitive” Arena playlists.
Matchmaking is always a problem no matter what system you use and it has been a problem in all Halos
Resetting rank every month doesn’t help. Perhaps if it was reset every 3-6 months
They say arena is competative but then have you play people way above or below you.
These days, there are a lot of smurfs playing in arena, making the game awful at times…

the game still matches you according to your previous seasons rank right of the back

Focused doesn’t help much at all. Seems things have gotten worse since the update. It’s gotten to the point where CSR is pretty meaningless since you still get crap matchmaking whether your bronze of champion, CSR rank each month after 10 rounds is a crap shoot, and you don’t get any extra REQ or XP if you’re Champion or Bronze. I just load up XP boosts and work on SR towards 152. I can understand now why some people throw the season placement matches to get bronze—you can at least earn more XP and REQ there and possibly move up a bit.
War zone is even more of a crapfest and only good to get some XP—especially if you have a good boost. Winning? Meh, maybe 2,000 XP more than losing so no big deal. I don’t even care about farmers in WZ now, doesn’t affect my XP earnings too much so no big deal—just don’t run out of the base to be a target.
Without the SR, there really wouldn’t be anything to build towards—CSR’s are reset each month and seem to throw you lower each time and are crap for matchmaking, REQ points just get you some new stuff, but you easily get them, commendations seem to be all about getting achilles armor, but now those with it are known as “farmers” by wearing it, so that’s ruined.
So what’s left? It’s the long slog to SR 152 which doesn’t require a stacked team to get there, or luck of matchmaking, or getting there quicker with a high CSR rank—just grinding and grinding and putting in the hard work.
