i want to know why the AR does not beat the other gun loadout i die bye BR, DMRS in the ARs effective range. I thank the AR needs a buff and BR needs a little nerf and the AR needs increase to RPM and DMG buffs the BR beats me every time!

Well no -Yoink-. The AR is a close range spray weapon. Get some skill and use a BR or Magnum and land your shots for kills, instead of holding down a trigger.

At range, the AR will lose to a ranged weapon.

its my most used gun an when i fight someone in close range the BR should lose im great with the gun the gun is beautiful i enjoy the gun i use all the time 343 had more camos for the gun before the dlc came out i like the time that went in to the gun for its camo!

AR is a joke

I just say once you adapt to each gun, everything gets easier. It’s all about which one you need to use in the moment.

In Warzone the Kinetic long shot AR is pretty effective at a long range in burst shots, but a normal AR shouldn’t really be used at long range. Try using a different permeation of the AR if the one in Arena inst doing it for you.

The customer is always right, mentality.

You must be running in a straight line, or at least moving very predictably.

When I use the AR in close range I keep strafing and jumping, and I win against BR/magnum users 95% of the time. The only time I don’t is when they land a perfect kill, and under those circumstances they definitely deserve that kill.

Grab the long barrel AR in Warzone then if you want more range… But the AR does it’s job fine and it’s a pretty fun weapon in this game.

Here are the current weapon stats for both the AR and BR

Assault Rifle : ~1.1 (Headshots) or 1.4 (All body shots)
The Assault Rifle has a 6 frame delay per shot, and it takes 12 or 15 bullets to kill a player.
It takes 9 shots to deplete shields and another 6 to kill them.
The weapon has a headshot multiplier against unshielded players, taking 3 shots to kill instead of 6.

  1. Battle Rifle : ~1.283333…
    There are 5 frames of delay between the first bullet and third bullet of the burst, with 2 frame delays between each bullet, meaning that a perfect kill takes 77 frames to complete.
    As for its rate of fire, each shot has a 24 frame (0.4 seconds) delay.
    The reload takes 54 frames (0.9) seconds for the magazine counter to update and 51 frames (0.85 seconds) for the weapon to go back to rest for a full reload of 105 frames (1.75 seconds)

The AR receives bonus’ to both range and accuracy and gets a headshot modifier , why on earth would you think it needs to be buffed?
Its the strongest the AR has ever been in any halo title ever

Eh, no thanks. So many campfires and even more respawn deaths.
But the Ar is an effective weapon, but has a horrible accuracy. I’m better with a Br and Magnum at close range.

I either run the Heavy Barrel AR or the Suppressed AR, full auto up close, but any range you need to start tap firing your shots in burst of 3. You can hear that amount of shots coming out.

It’s certainly an Ambush weapon, the BR is too easy in this game with its bullet magnetism I agree its hard to take out BR users in AR range sometimes

Can you explain those stats abit more easily? I love weapon statistics, big battlefield fan, appreciate it :slight_smile:

AR runner, honestly this gun is pretty damn solid, makes a good secondary to my SMG :>

Would I be safe in assuming you only play warzone then? I often play ffa and in that playlist ARs shine, not for me because i suck with them, but most players are shoulder charge and AR spraying in that playlist since you cant change your spawn loadout. If ARs got buffed that playlist would be almost unplayable for precision players like myself. The AR is strictly for cqc and is weak in big longer range games so yes br will always beat in medium to long range but in closer the AR turns players to swiss cheese before br players can do much. Plus nerfimg br would require nerfing pistol and just about all low level precision weapons.

Strafeing side to side and moving erratically. Funnily enough i do a lot of my aiming with strafe and save the right stick for vertical adjustments.
