Halo free for all or FFA in general is a popular mode and my favorite mode in all shooters and Halo. Now so you know some information about me and my experiences and achievements within FFA. I have gotten around twenty flawless free-for all’s in Halo 4 and one in Halo 3 i even got a Unbelievable in Haven oddball free for all in matchmaking on halo 4. I have around a 10 k/d ratio in halo 4 FFA and around a 15 w/l also i have a 50csr in ffa and a 50 hidden skill rank in slayer. So i see my opinion as valid before you say it is not.
I believe the base player count of FFA should range from 6-8 depending on the map and game mode. 343 please do not pull a MCC FFA and up the count to 10 players that i can say first hand was awful and ruined FFA. I believe the Ar is too much of a long range weapon and has too much ability to spray in FFA. I also believe gamemodes like KOTH and oddball FFA should be separate from slayer FFA and modes like regicide and casual modes like sword duels do not require skill and have no place in FFA unless it is separated into a different playlist like Action sack or Action sack FFA. Now i propose you replace the Ar start with a Smg start and keep the pistol but only give a player one grenade on spawn. I think this would reduce spray and pray of FFA and also grenade spam while a skilled player can use the pistol for range. I also would like to see power weapons, vehicles, power ups, interactive map features, different day times and weapon pickups on FFA maps.
What do you guys think on this subject?
PS: Be sure to have vehicle and weapon variants.

I do like most of your suggestions. Definitely need to have FFA be a 6-8 person gametype. Especially when players have the ability to sprint and thruster pack, having more players than that would be too chaotic and overwhelming for a lot of players. I also like the suggestion of having the SMG and Magnum being the starting weapons.
To have every player spawn with an AR would lead to an over abundance of spray and pray from across the map from more than one player. Having SMGs would encourage map flow to getting the better weapons on map. Even to swap an SMG for an AR.
Power weapons on map are a given. Maybe you could have the Energy Sword/Prophet’s Bane be a power weapon in competitive FFA but just have it on Truth like in the Beta but also have Shotgun spawn bottom mid to counter the sword. I feel that would be a great compromise.
