Will halo 5 be patched on Scorpio to wipe out the graphical compromises like severely reduced draw distance, low res textures, 30 fps animations in the distance, dynamic resolution, disappearing effects up close and so on?
Just curious, I’d love it if 343 did it. The campaign needs some TLC after the several missteps that were made.

The way the engine is built, it won’t have to be patched. It’s a dynamic engine for all the things you mentioned. It should look amazing on scorpio.
Where is the halo 6 in this?
I believe Halo 5 will be maxed out on the Scorpio (really hope they keep that name) at 1080p/60fps due to dynamic scaling.

I do too, although I’d almost be willing to bet money that it’s not going to be called Scorpio on release. The Xbox One was code-named Durango and the 720, and we got the Xbox One. I’m sure they will give it a proper name a few months away from launch.
I’m willing to bet that the project scorpio xbox is going to be at least 600 to 800 bucks.

It could be, but that entirely depends on how much it would cost to produce.
I’m willing to bet that MS is probably going to blow millions into prototyping designs until they find one that can hit the desired spec while being as low-cost as possible.

True. Hopefully they don’t try and make too many shortcuts to help make it affordable because complications could surface from hardware malfunctioning and whatnot.

Secondly, the GPS of the Scorpio is 200$ today. In 2017 the console will likely be 400$ to 500$. And MS already said there will be a trade in program.
Also, the resolution. Only I’d dynamic. That is obviously going to remain to 1080p throughout BUT…particle effects, animations and draw distance are NOT. Those need to be fixed.

trade in program? That is a good idea they made. I was going to buy the Scorpio and hearing this makes me want it more.

Microsoft is hosting a trade in program? Source?
I’d utilize that, but if it’s just a gamestop trade in, I’d rather buy one brand new elsewhere than do business with them.
