Halo 5 and MCC sales???

So far 343 have said very little on halo 5s sales so far. We know that it grossed $400 million in its first week (including hardware), it was the bestselling game in October 2015 in the U.S. and it sold 5 million copies in its first 3 months on sale. To have almost every 1 out of 4 Xbox one owners having your game is impressive but where do you think the sales are now? Since we know that sold 5 million copies by the end of January is good news but how many copies has it sold since then? As for MCC last time we heard it had sold around 5 million units by July last year (Halo series sales increased by 5 million after release of MCC and Spartan Strike). Where do you think halo 5s and MCCs sales are now?

Well with a glut of new FPS shooters coming out this next month I’m sure they aren’t great. But the game has been out for a year and with the massive amounts of good games that have come out or are coming out in this day in age you can’t how for a jump in sales at this point in time unless they do some deals with gold or make a HW2/MMC or H5 bundle

Very deceptive. I forgot where the older thread that dispelled those numbers is but is somewhere. Basically Msoft overhyped the numbers, a lot. Most were digital copies as well for what that’s worth.

Its basic PR BS, bet -Yoink!- is salty that their studio cant make good Halo game. And they have lost the console war so RIP Halo 6 if it has samekind of BS as Halo 5, not that I play it anymore. Even Destiny is better at its current state (lol).

Yeah man. Damn sad

As far as I know, the 5 Million was an account of numbers shipped, rather than sold. To MS and 343 that doesn’t really make a difference, once it’s shipped out MS has gotten it’s payment. However, considering it’s a figure of shipped copies, I’ll assume it doesn’t include digital. All keep in mind that this was by January 2016. Safe to assume it’s done more since then. So it’s probably 5 million for MCC and at least 5 million for Halo 5. The Xbox One S bundles sell the games as well.

I figure if there was a large storage of copies it would have had huge sales by now. Interesting to note is that in Canada, Rare Replay was once on sale for $5, Quantum Break had come down to $15 for a time, and Gears of War UE floats between 15-20. Meanwhile, I’ve never seen Halo 5 for lower than 30 (I would know, as an LCE buyer I’ve been trying to get a physical disc to keep with my collection). Based on these facts you are free to make your own assumptions, but rest assured that A) Halo 5 made money for MS in terms of copies sold (doesn’t even begin to include the money coming in through REQs) and B) MS is committed to the franchise.

Also key fact is that population retention is highest it’s been since Halo 3. Whether that is percentage based or numbers based is unknown (but most probably percentage based), it’s still a good fact for the franchise.

Don’t know, but I dare assume that Halo 6 sales are going to be trash after these two acts.

You mean the game that had dlc content on disk at launch? The game where Bungie stealthily extended the exclusivity deal with $ony for the taken king content under the covers? The game where rank means nothing and you’re only as good as the dlc loot you have or bought? (which affects all modes. REQs only affect warzone) The game that tried too hard to incorporate CoD mechanics into a Halo game with a hint of class-based shinanigans where one class would always be op coughtitancough

sure, it’s a much game

I lied, it’s not.

Are you talking about Halo 4?
