The Halo that Bungie exists in the past. Sure it was great, it was the original trilogy and nothing will ever take away from that. As Halo fans, we need to learn to evolve with the game, even if it doesn’t feel exactly like the original games, and it shouldn’t. This is a new trilogy and therefor, progressing into something entirely different than what it was before. 343 expanded the Halo lore exponentially once they took over. What other game spans all other media, including books, movies, anime, and audio podcasts? None. That’s what makes it so great. I feel people forget the reason they came to love Halo and spend more time ranting/complaining about what needs fixing. I have been sitting back and watching the Halo community, heck the gaming community at large become" self entitled" babies that complain if they don’t get what they want. It’s embarrassing to watch and see how we treat the developers of the games we love. Just let it happen and be happy that we get more Halos, because one day, it will end.
We as a Halo community still need to voice our opinions and let 343 know concerns we have, that’s basic community feedback. While Halo 5 may have not met all of our expectations, let’s take a moment and notice what makes it great, and what makes 343 great. They’ve cultivated the groundwork that Bungie set in place in 2001, look how far it’s come, and it’s not stopping soon. I for one am excited to see where 343 will take us after the plot in Halo 5, and all you Halo fans should be too, even if weren’t impressed with the narrative. It’s still Halo at heart, and that’s all that matters. Just love Halo.
