Halo 5: Advanced Warfare (Read)

Alright for real though, why would 343 make a HALO game that is completely based off Call of Duty Advanced Warfare?

  • There is a Announcer, completely unlike the past Halo’s- There is sprinting again (alrighty then)- Weapons zoom in (first person, not like always)- There is sliding- You can evade gunfire by swinging off to the sides- Maps remade- Also weapons spawns that are called out to players (for real?!)I mean of course there are those of you that will say if you can’t adapt then piss off or if you don’t like why play it? My reason and point being that this isn’t how halo is meant to be played out! Such change is dramatically made you hardcore fans don’t think to yourselves and say "wow this is nothing like the past halos, what are they thinking’. In my opinion, once a game is made with the mechanics it’s made to play out with then it should not be changed. I am a serious fan of halo and hope that some people feel the way I feel about this situation because it is a huge drastic change that should be recognized and dealt with.

Thank you readers and please give feedback along with your own personal opinion.

I commend you for coming with a decent blend of “Halo 5:Guardians” and “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare”, but I must disagree with you.

It, and CoD:AW should be called “Crysis 4: Two Sides of Same Coin” because Crysis had six of those features and it came out a few years ago.

But, it gets better! Crysis probably wan’t the first to do it either! So, should we just go back through gaming history to find the games these ideas came from, mash the titles together, and call it a day?

throws on my headset and looks for all the different ‘Here We Go Again’ songs

But no, seriously? I wanna quote something from you.

> I am a serious fan of halo

Now to quote something else:

> There is an Announcer, completely unlike past Halo’s

So who do you call the man who calls out how many kills you got, the different types of kills you pulled up and the game type you’re playing? The magic man in your helmet/head? That would be the Announcer…who’s been in EVERY Halo Multiplayer since Combat Evolved (his name is Jeff Steitzer by the way, in case you want to look him up on Wikipedia or something)

Alright I understand where you are coming from but the point of the fact being is that Halo has had a massive leap in the way it is played and I really don’t like it! Also me not knowing the announcers name has nothing to do with me being a “serious halo fan”. I am also really sure you don’t know something off by heart from the Halo Universe.

Please Note Everything in Bold is me.

> Considering ,based on the videos we’ve seen, Halo 5 has been made for at least a year or 2 now, I doubt they copied it. Also, how can you create a whole beta in a few months if 343 did actually copy AW - There is a Announcer, completely unlike the past Halo’sLooks like someone hasn’t played past Halos. - There is sprinting again (alrighty then)There is also sprinting in: Battlefield, Destiny, Titanfall, Borderlands and Minecraft . They must be copying CoD too. - Weapons zoom in (first person, not like always)Good Point - There is slidingaaand? - You can evade gunfire by swinging off to the sidesI guess this was a rip-off when evade was implemented in halo reach and thruster pack in 4? - Maps remadeIt’s not like that’s happened on every halo game before. - Also weapons spawns that are called out to players (for real?!)**Its the fact that it still appears as a waypoint that annoys me.**I mean of course there are those of you that will say if you can’t adapt then piss off or if you don’t like why play it? My reason and point being that this isn’t how halo is meant to be played out KILL NEW CONTENT HAHAHA! Such change is dramatically made you hardcore fans don’t think to yourselves and say "wow this is nothing like the past halos, what are they thinking’. In my opinion, once a game is made with the mechanics it’s made to play out with then it should not be changed and you were just complaining how halo is becoming too mush like CoD. Ironic. I am a serious fan of halo Havent heard that before and hope that some people feel the way I feel about this situation check the rest of the forum because it is a huge drastic change that should be recognized and dealt with. **Halo 3.2??**Thank you readers and please give feedback along with your own personal opinion.

I tend to do this when I get bored. Sorry if I came out rude or an opinion hater, just trying to write my opinion on your opinion.

I could sit here and list off everything I know but with this being on the computer there’s no way for me to prove it to you without you declaring I ‘looked that information up’

Oh, by the way, I am running a clan based on the UNSC which I am doing as a Halo fan and a person who’s been apart of multiple Halo In-Universe Clans all based around the UNSC. I could go on about how in the ODST’s I had to learn the actual cadence of the ODST’s (and UNSC Marines in general) whilst doing crouch laps around Forge World, and how I had to learn every UNSC weapon by it’s technical name rather than the simplified version we all call them by and had to know it’s ammo type, it’s manufacturer, and what year it was made all in the canon. I also could go on about how I went on to becoming a SPARTAN-III and how we had to learn all about the SPARTAN-III Program, who started it, who trained them, how they got in in the first place, what the candidates were like and what they were meant to accomplish. Not just that I also had to learn about their specific armor (which wasn’t MJOLNIR by the way) and how they utilized it and what weapon they used (based on information from The Fall of Reach) which we were required to read in that clan’s boot. I could also go on about the many different Sangheili clans I had to learn about and the names of the Sangheili and their importance as well as what each color meant in terms of rank and position within the Covenant. I could also go on about the UNSC Marines and how I started that in another UNSC-based clan and how I had all of my Marines read up about all the different altercations and battles that they fought in ranging from before the Human-Covenant War, up until the Human-Covenant War, During the war, and, though scarce, the battles and altercations after.

So yes, I could go on about all that, I could also list off all that. But my relevancy would be put into question due to the easy access of the internet. So I’ll let that track record above speak for itself as to my knowledge of Halo Lore and Canon. Crosses legs whilst stroking my stack of Halo Books, Comics, and versions of the Halo Encyclopedia in a ODST themed dress-down shirt.

  1. Advanced Warfare was first show off in 2014. Halo 5 has been in development since the release of Halo 4. I really don’t see how Halo 5 is based of Advanced Warfare. Not going to go into detail about how the games are completely different on a fundamental level. Ones an Arcade Shooter, The other is an Arena Shooter.

  2. It’s the same Guy. I can agree that he’s a little more like a ‘Sports Announcer’ than the classic, But it’s still the same dude from Halo CE.

  3. But, The weapon zoom has always been in First Person. You were never jolted out into Third Person for Aiming.

  4. Many games feature a Slide mechanic. Just because CoD has it as well, Doesn’t mean anything.

  5. Halo 4 had Thrusters before CoD and Titanfall. So how is Halo 5 basing off CoD?

  6. By that logic, Halo 2 is like Advance Warfare because they remade Bloodgulch and Beaver Creek.

  7. But there are no weapon spawns in Advance Warfare, So yet again, How is Halo 5 copying CoD?

  8. Well… Yeah. It’s your choice. No one is forcing you to continue playing Halo. If you don’t like Halo 5, Then don’t buy it. Others will buy it and enjoy it. It’s your choice.

  9. Halo isn’t meant to focus on Map Control and Equal Starts? Okay then! Back to Halo 4 we go!

  10. Maybe because it’s not meant to be exactly the same? Every Halo game differs from it;s predecessor in man ways. As long as the next Halo game respects the core formula, The Arena formula, And then adds something new to it, Then it’s fine by me (Don’t know about any other fans, But this is my opinion).

  11. We never had Duel Wielding or Vehicle Boarding in Halo CE. We shouldn’t of added the since they changed the sandbox and ruined the original mechanics.

  12. Yup. Going from a Mutated abomination, To CoD is Space, Back to an Arena Shooter is a drastic change. I’ll give you that.

I basically just said that but I’ll like your comment anyway.

I would’ve called it “Combat Advanced” but whatever.

OT: This is the same, ignorant argument that was said when people compared Advanced Warfare to Titanfall; you’re only seeing what you want to see to feed your opinion.

You do know this game has been in production for over 2 years, and the spartan abilities were introduced to the public before Advanced Warfare was shown?

See, this is exactly what i mean when i say core halo players are dumb as door knobs

343 in-dust-trees copied Mario sunshine for halo 5
Want proof?
Both have sprint
Both have thrusting
Both have clamber
Both have a jet pack
both are sequels
both have iconic characters
both have water
both have missions
both have enemies

Coincidence? I think not!
Bunguy and threeforfree ruined halo 15 by coping call of sunshine Mario warfare 2

I think we need to start making halo more like halo and by halo I mean halo 2 because apparently halo 1 never existed.

Holy -Yoink- people. Wait for the beta and play it then you can say all you want afterwards. Until then please stop all this whining.

I’m hoping for another crysis game, but this time I hope they try to do their own thing with the pvp, and not just perks/ killstreaks if you know what I mean.

Yeah. I love Crysis, but it had such a horrible population. It didn’t have almost any problems either. It just flopped for no reason.

I like comments like this^^^^^ because he’s right! The things we see as new aren’t when looked at past titles. In a previous post I happened to remember that there are halo games that the public isn’t aware of and got dropped by Microsoft because they weren’t deemed halo. Or maybe just bad in general, but the point is that halo 5 had to undergo some playing by fans and pros alike to be deemed halo. New features or not, it’s still halo. Not advanced warfare

i think everything will be fine guys don’t worry about 343, if they screw anything up we will still have halo 3 and reach to play and halo 2

All in all, I think you are pretty dumb and just wanted to hop aboard the 343i hate train.

Halo 5 is close to advanced warfare but advanced warfare close to Titanfall

I’m tired of you people. My favorite Halo games r 2 and 3 and Halo 5 looks like HALO to me. Stop following popular opinion and form your OWN. Play the game.
