The closer we get to launch the more disappointing news we get. From forge to game types and then the story not living up to the hype. When will people start to finally realize 343 is no saint. This will be the 3rd game they make and they some how keep dropping the ball.
In regards to the campaign, I’d relate the marketing and final result akin to the movie Salt. Build up a big mystery to create hype, hardly touch on said mystery in the actual product, and solve it all in the beginning to the point where it’s all irrelevant for the rest of the experience.
They also did CEA and the MCC, but they were largely outsourced. Talking about Halo games that they actually made themselves: 2.
But I haven’t played the game yet, so I’m not reading that IGN article. I assumed the “Hunt the Truth” thing that I’ve been following very closely wasn’t all it was made out to be.
1.) Nobody said 343i was a saint. Tot the contrary, people throw fits about them all the time.
2.) Your criticism is justified. However, this isn’t just a problem with Microsoft and Halo and we all know it. Too many game companies are taking the “release it now, finish it later” approach.
I saw the trailer after the movie, and you know what I saw?
EVERY, MAJOR, SCENE. was the trailer.
All of them. it’s the whole movie, but, it’s the inbetween things that make it a movie, even with the trailer being everything short of the move minus any exposition.
