Master Chief walking around in his Poncho makes him look like a ghost. Like he will spend his entire life trying to find someone. He has unfinished business with them. It could be that of revenge or love. Love for Cortana? There is also lots of purple around Cortana, an unique colour, almost non-existant in the nature. Cortana is very special to him. And she has gray/blueish hair resembling that she is growing old? Old and rampant?
The blue in the picture resembles hope. Hope that they one day can come back together.
