Halo 5: 2 things you will miss, and 2 you won't

I like the “flow” of the game now. It’s much faster paced than it used to be. If you have been into the series for a while, you will remember how talked up the Spartans were in some of the books. Each one of them was basically like Superman, and yet you always would walk and strafe around at 4-5 mph in classic halo games. I also liked that we all had the same abilities like sprint, clamber, etc.

I also absolutely love ground pound and spartan charge. I am fairly sure they will take the latter out of the game from all of the complaints. It is so useful though. You can flip light vehicles with a well placed shot to the side and use it as an extra boost. Ground pound is just the greatest thing ever imo, especially when you hit 2-3 people with it and kill some of them instantly. It looks especially cool if you do it with a hammer haha

One thing I won’t miss much are all of the variants of the weapons. I think they will rightfully thin the herd a bit.

This game also totally ignores the Brutes and the Flood. I did not like that and I think both will make a series comeback eventually.

i dont mind if there are spartan abilities in the next halo or if there are missing i can still enjoy the game with or without them but one thing is sure, they look very cinematic and cool.
And for the req variants i really like them they make the encounters in warzone so fun and the weapons pad glitch is awesome.

It’s hard to say what I will miss because we don’t know what’s changing yet. I can say I wouldn’t miss Spartan Charge or Join in Progress if they were removed

What I’ll miss;

  • I’ll probably miss the weapon & vehicle variants for some for the weapons in the game and thanks to that, we got the almighty weapon pad glitch - I honestly don’t know my second oneGood riddance:

  • Spartan Charge - Promotes reckless gameplay around the MP and rewards players for running like a chicken without its head - Seeker - No need for explanation asides from being the most “iconic” helmet of all time

I’ll certainly miss the spartan abilities if they get removed. Maybe not charge as much but certainly ground pound. Hopefully clamber sticks around. I’ll also miss the AI squad mechanics if they go too. It was nice to have a squad covering you that wasn’t totally useless (looking at you, NOBLE).

I certainly won’t miss the limited customization options though. Hopefully a return to the old artstyle will bring with it expanded armor options. Doesn’t even need to be the same as Reach, just give me more options than armor and helmets! And I certainly won’t miss the Prometheans in their current state. They’re broken as hell and way too tanky.

One thing I’ll miss is the greatness of certain special guns like The Answer or the Halo 2 BR. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the insane variety of weapons, The Answer & H2 BR just felt so good to use!
Another thing I’ll miss is the Team vs AI round-based objectives of Warzone Firefight. Probably the only mode I still play in H5.

I won’t miss the Armor Abilities. I personally felt like they made the game too unnecessarily competitive and gave too many variables to consider with the new movement & melee mechanics.
Another thing I won’t miss is the Campaign. There were definitely some fun and interesting moments, but it didn’t feel like how a Halo campaign should have IMO. Repeated bosses, uninteresting Prometheans, less Chief & more boring characters, convoluted story, no solo moments, and a bunch of other issues really brought the campaign down for me.
