I think a playlist that is 12v12 or 20v20 would be a nice addition to the game. When I think big team battle I don’t think of an 8 man team. I think BIG. They would have to create a few bigger maps than what BTB currently has for 20v20 but I’d be okay with that. 12v12 could use current maps. What do you guys think?
No, the way it is right now is fine. This is something that won’t happen for Halo 5, anyway don’t you have Warzone for that?

Warzone is still only 8v8 as far as I remember. Maybe 20v20 is pushing it but a 12v12 BTB would be great IMHO.

In warzone you can only enter matchmaking in groups of 1-6. Warzone Warlords allows for groups of 6 or 12 to enter matchmaking, but Warlords is not a permanent playlist.
Currently BTB is the playlist that allows the largest team size (8 players) to enter matchmaking together.

Nope, 12v12. That was one of the “selling” points of the mode. People have been asking for larger scale battles and Warzone was the answer.

Guess I don’t play enough warzone to know that. I know now that Warzone was the answer, but that doesn’t change for me that a 12v12 CTF match would be awesome.

I’m all for this. I was hoping for btb with 12v12 and 24v24 without reqs, just a bigger btb. Warzone is not for me, and btb is just a tacked on after thought imo.
For anything bigger than 12v12 you’d need requirements to be met.
first off the server needs to handle the number of players, then the maps need to be adjusted accordingly where it’s not to cramped but also not so open. You want to stop spawn killing as much as possible and also not have people taking forever to traverse a map. Next thing you need is can the game simply handle all of the action with more people? The more people involved, the more stress you put on the game to receive the data and transmit it. How much will be going on with the environment to cause frame issues and such (already an issue in btb and warzone as is).
Its not not going to happen for H5 but bigger than 12 man teams could be possible if they did upgrades to better handle the addition.
I can’t say I have anything against it, but I have no interest in having bigger teams in Halo. There are games out there with much better large team dynamics that I’d rather play when I want that kind of experience. The gameplay of Halo just isn’t particularly exceptional for teams significantly beyond 8v8. Which is not to say 16v16 wouldn’t be as good as 8v8, but it just wouldn’t have that much to offer over 8v8. So, I just don’t see the appeal of this idea.
It’d be interesting to see Warzone go a route similar to Battlefield with the amount of players allowed, but they would probably have to put a lower vehicle cap in which wouldn’t be good.

64 players would be better. I doubt we’ll ever get those kind of big maps in H5 since the forge canvas’s are way too small, are mainly designed for small team based BTB games. I think for now this will have to be something for 343i to consider for H6 since I believe it’s too late into H5’s life cycle to make any more major changes when there main focus should be the next major Halo game. Kind of surprised 343i didn’t do this since games like Battlefield 4 have 64 players, the maps feel pretty big while Halo 4/5’s maps are too small for BTB modes.

Sure it would be, never understand why 343i decided to downgrade H5 instead of improving Halo. It’s just seems silly that banshee’s get taken down so easily because the players barely have much room to evade enemy’s.
