Does anyone else feel that the Halo UI just looks really bad compared to other Halo games?
No no, not really.
Yep.
Yet another shining feature. I believe it’s somewhere up there with “Matchmaking From 1998”.
Once I got used to it, it works out fine.
I always thought it looked rather unpleasant. At least after the sleek, intuitive, and simplistic UI design of Bungie’s Halo games. I’m still not liking it. I’d rather have all the selections take less space with more background visible instead of these huge, ugly tiles.
I can’t really say the UI difficult to use, although, I would rather have custom games and Spartan Ops accessible from the main menu. However, it’s not pleasant to look at at all. And while that has no real significance in relation to my enjoyment in the game, I still appreciate UI design that looks elegant and practical.
Nope…Im able to find/get what I need easily. People these days worry too much about aesthetics.
Its not like you sit there for hours upon end staring at the UI thinking how “awful” it is.
You get what you need then go.
Simple stuff.
Maybe they should add and option to customize it like some games
I don’t think the UI itself is bad, but it doesn’t always feel smooth (as in, it stutters and lags occasionally)
The fact that there’s a good 2-4 second delay when I press start shows how poor the menu is.
I miss every other UI in Halo games. At least I could read the gamertags in those…
Reach’s menus were better in every way.
Extremely clunky. With Reach we got a simple and easy to navigate design, with Halo 4 we get Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
I hate it
The Halo 4 UI was a major leap backwards compared to that of Reach, though if the gameplay sees improvement at least, then I can deal with it for now. There are many things with it I don’t quite understand, which are incredibly frustrating… and there’s one such issue that I find utterly stupid.
In Custom Games, why on earth do I need to go into my player card just to switch teams, instead of doing it with a push of a button? This doesn’t make any sense.
The only thing I don’t like are the tiles in MM that show everyone. To see who’s in the game you have to scroll through the tiles, which is a pain. I miss the old days where just the names were displayed and you could see everyone in the game.
I like it! Exactly how I feel about the UI in Halo 4… It’s just so clunky.
At least in Matchmaking Lobby you can change it to look like Halo Reach’s UI for Players. But they really should have added an option to change the ENTIRE UI for Halo 4 to something more like Reach. The option alone would’ve been great, and they would learn nobody likes to choose sliding squares.
The UI was just something else 343i changed for the sake of changing it.
It’s not half bad, once you get used to it that is. What is up with the ‘make things big and in your face’ all of a sudden, like windows8. Keep it simple, is the way to do it. I also preferred waypoint the way it was before.

It’s definitely a step backward.
