Halo 4's Realism

It’s not the reason why certain elements play out a certain way. It’s just a wrapper, not a base. Really, it’s not too logical to think that the missing features are because of canon.

when did i say any of that?

And they suffer big casualties these days… Dam.

As for the whole canon thing, regarding Theater.

I don’t recall they ever said anywhere that it’s because of canon, that we can’t record. It was something with the rendering.

Canon has nothing to do with the lack of options. Your hardware and the development time does.

Thinks of the Elites not being in Multiplayer because of this reason…

I mean, I love the fact that Multiplayer (and Jeff Steitzer) is canon. That’s cool. But sacrificing features for it really sucks. I think they should’ve just said “War Games Simulation is canon, but some of the features within it are not.”

this exactly.

Wasnt theatre omitted due to time constraints?

> something with the rendering[/h].

As far as I can remember, campaign and Spartan ops Theatre were taken out due to issues rendering the covenant and/or prometheans. It wasn’t to do with canon, although it does sound like a very convenient excuse…

I’m pretty sure playable Elites may have been cut due to time constraints.

However, integrating multiplayer in the story always seems like a convenient excuse more than anything. It’s like a lie that doesn’t make sense, so you don’t believe it.

Excellent battle analysis, Miller! I’m making a note on your file.

343 ran out of time to do theatre for campaign. Last I heard (In a bulletin) they said they hope to implement it in the future but it’s unlikely.

I hope you do know Crimson is supposed to be either “you” or your character that you made up. 343i left Crimson blank so that players could immerse themselves in the Halo Universe.

And I thought theatre, theater or however you want to spell it was cut out due to time constraints, not for the sake of “canon”.

I think it’s ridiculous to restrict things that made the game fun, just to make the game more “real”.

Gameplay comes first.

I’m pretty sure multiplayer wasn’t intended to be canon, it’s a convenient reason as to why various things are missing (e.g. playable elites, campaign theater), I mean a Spartan isn’t just going to turn in to a monitor and fly off and create stuff

Well blank characters are the worst thing in gaming, I didn’t like Chief CE-3

Canon was never the reason for the missing features. If you don’t have the time to do it, you have to give unpolished, buggy, or broken features the ax. That’s the ugly truth about development and time schedules.

In most cases, yes, they are. But if you have enough creativity, you can turn a blank character into a well thought out one with an identity. Crimson is an example of this, because Crimson is whoever you want him/her/them to be. In CE-3 however, that was just a lack of character development.

Oh I came up with a story for my Spartan alright, but they provide no background info whatsoever, at least with ODST and Reach they did

The background info is up to you, I guess.
