Halo 4's Main Problems and my solutions

So here is a short list of some of the game breaking things that are causing imbalances in the game so to start us off…

Problem- Vehicles: Have you ever noticed how warthogs, ghosts, and other vehicles are not utilizied as much as they were in past halo games? Well thats all thanks to the plasma pistol and stickies starts.

Solution 1: Make the Operator mod IMMUNE to the plasma overcharge, because even with the operator mod you currently still get stunned for like 1.5 seconds and thats all it takes for the same guy to throw 2 stickies on your hog and then… game over.

Solution 2: Make it so you can only spawn with one sticky instead if two. (still haven’t quite figured out why you can only spawn with one pulse grenade and two of the other grenade types)but they need to make it so you only get one sticky on spawn. This will make get stickies from ordances more favorable and people may actually choose stickes over a needle or speedboost lol :stuck_out_tongue:

Problem- Boltshot Nuff’ said too much range no one should spawn with a one shot kill weapon, promotes camping and “nubbiness”

Solution 1: DESTROY IT!!! I NEVER WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN!!!

Solution 2:Reduce range and make it only a one shot kill at super close range, like melee range.

Solution 3: Make it where you can only overcharge the Boltshot once and once you use that one overcharged shot the gun “breaks” and it can’t be used again.

Problem- DMR: Saved the best for last  The DMR is basically your go to gun for any map/playlist. It can be used both for short/medium/and long range situations. The DMR should not be able to beat every gun on every map.

Soltuion: My solution is quite simple and won’t break the game or require other weapons to recieve a buff. It’s called a rate of fire decrease. This will make the DMR lose more battles up close and still keep winning battles at long range (likle its supposed to)

This will also allow people with snipers to actually have a chance to snipe on big maps instead of being killed in 2 seconds by one guy across the map. Additonally a lower rate of fire means less DMR vs Vehicle= DMR wins.

Well those were some of the problems I have encountoured so far in Halo 4 and my solutions to them. Tell me what you think of them or your solutions to these problems.

TL;DR

Don’t be lazy, reading isn’t hard.

I disagree with your vehicle problems. You just want to be invincible again in vehicles.

Boltshot needs its charge up time increasing, and its range decreasing.

DMR, I agree needs its ROF decreasing.

> I disagree with your vehicle problems. You just want to be invincible again in vehicles.

That’s what they are for…

Vehicles shouldn’t have to slowly inch around cover to be protected, that is infantry’s job. Vehicles are meant to RIDE.

When everyone spawns with plasmas vehicles only last a minute at best.

I don’t agree with nerfing the boltshot. Doing so would make it completely useless.

I do agree with nerfing the DMR, but this would make it inferior to the BR at medium range and the LR at long range.

I agree with the plasma pistol start: why should anyone be able to spawn with the noob combo?

I suppose the plasma grenade could be left in, if your suggestion about Operator being immune to the plasma burst was implemented. Without plasma grenades, vehicles can absolutely overrun a map, as we’ve all experienced in past Halo games when one team gets every vehicle on the map.

The DMR point I’m a little torn on, mainly because I like it so much lol. But it is clearly the best gun in the game and easy to get kills with, so I have to say I like it like it is.

The boltshot is too powerful. It’s crazy that everyone can essentially spawn with a makeshift shotgun.

I’m going to add a few more problems in here and see if anyone agrees:

  1. No red X’s on death. Makes it very hard for teammates to see where you died/where the action is taking place.

  2. Suppressor is too weak. How am I supposed to finish the commendation for it when the gun is almost a joke to use?

  3. No ranked playlist. Perhaps the biggest mistake of all. I’ve heard they’re putting in ranked playlists in January, but this is just another time that I have to wait for the rest of a game to be implemented that I paid $60 for.

  4. No dropping the flag in CTF. Make it like Oddball. Being able to drop the flag allows for more strategy in the game, and I don’t mean just flag running. Like when you’re getting shot with the flag and you run around the corner and there’s rockets laying on the ground and you’d like to drop the flag, pick them up, and kill those chasing you, but you can’t… and then they pick them up and you’re dead.

  5. Not being able to resupply grenades from enemies. I understand it helps with grenade spamming but I think this solution is too drastic.

THANK YOU!!! Someone who feels the same as me!

Ya no X’s when your teammates die is a bummer, thats been in since halo 2

never used the suppresor or seen anyone else really use it (prolly cuz it is weak lol)

and if you could drop the flag make it so you can throw it like a javelin and impale people lol, that would be awsome!

Suppressor is amazing at close range. It beats everything short of a shotgun. I’ve even almost matched SAW users with it.

The problem is, it has a range of like 5 feet and most maps are very large.

It, like most of the Forerunner weapons, are orientated towards defense. The problem isn’t that it’s weak, the problem it is a very, VERY niche weapon, nowhere near as versatile as the others.

Ah good point!
