Completing Halo on legendary is a tradition for many people including myself. My favorite would be Halo Ce’s it truly made you feel like a legendary super soldier charging into battle against intelligent aliens who challenge you to your wits ends. In other games (mainly 3& reach) you felt like a mouse battling cows. There is no intellectual challenge just “keep shooting until it dies”. The health and damage buffs received by the enemy is too much and they are still incompetent like your marines. Most of the sandbox is shut out too. Reach’s legendary only consisted of a few weapons the needle rifle, dmr,pp,Splaser, rockets and the sniper rifle. Anything else was useless.Same case with halo 3.
I hope in Halo 4 the enemies get smarter, but the damage and health stay relatively the same as the player. Knights should teleport behind you, crawlers should flank you , watchers should strafe and avoid being hit by you as much as possible. How awesome would it be if jackals formed a phalanx?
Yeah, I hope the enemies are smarter also. They most likely will be.
But, judging by the Spartan Ops gameplay on legendary, it won’t be as challenging as previous Halo games, it looks easier.
Agreed. 343i shouldn’t buff the A.I’s health and damage only, they should buff their intelligence.
I agree. It’s like fighting the same old idiots who apparently have been working out.
I absolutely hated Reach on Legendary, the sheer quantity of ammunition required to kill an Ultra was ridiculous. I hope that Halo 4’s Legendary will be more like CE’s. Enemies with about the same health, that do a little more damage, and are much much smarter.

I’m up for a challenge in that sort of difficulty!
I just hope the friendly AI’s are not brain dead like Halo: Reach.
I agree.
On legendary there should be:
- More enemies
- Higher ranked enemies
- Smarter enemies (Example: Grunts never flee and keep firing at you while other enemy A.Is flank you)
- Slight damage and health buff for enemy A.I.
Something between Halo CE and Halo 2 Legendary would be nice.
I also agree that enemies should be smarter. Halo 3 and Reach were a bit too easy on Legendary.

I agree what if grunts become relentless and keep advancing no matter what you do kinda like zombies. What if crawlers started circling around you like sharks and attack randomly?
> Agreed. 343i shouldn’t buff the A.I’s health and damage only, they should buff their intelligence.
I disagree on the health buff, as enemies on past Legendary modes (except CE) were spongy to the point of being ridiculousus.
I think intelligence should be the primary factor in difficulty, with enemy damage being secondary.
I know that means a lot more work on 343i’s part, but the game would be much better for it.

That would really make them formidable foe.

That tradition died with H3 for me.
CE: full immersion
H2: some great moments of immersion
H3: immersion shattered by teleporting kill stealing friendly AI
Reach: immersion died at the beginning of first mission (Spec Ops Elite with data pad, Grunts losing their AI) and when there’s a chance for it to emerge, it is constantly suppressed by bs like impossible RoF, teleporting kill stealing invincible friendly AI, and poor friendly AI

So damn true!!!
H4 Legendary looks great so far. Powerful Spartan, equal and potentially smart Elites, extremely efficient Promethean enemies. :’)

Sounds great!!
They already had swarm behavior in past Halo games but rarely were there more than 15 Grunts at a time. Adding more Grunts would make it better. Making them smarter would make it perfect.
This is my first post on these forums, and I’m going to use it to say you sir, are a genius. I hate the standard enemies are stronger but dumb. Difficulty increasing intelligence is great. Also, the jackal phalanx idea is amazing.
