I think everyone here can agree that Halo 4’s Legendary Slayer is a step in the right direction and it is not that big of a step to suggest that this classic, no random weapons, predictable on map weapon spawns, limited/no loadouts, no AA, map control based gameplay is what Halo 5 needs to be by default. THIS is what made Halo popular in the first place, where it took actual map control and skill to come out on top not some random weapon drop, clunky armor ability, or ordinance drop.
This is Halo, this is what Halo 5 needs to be, not have this limited to a single gametype(Legendary Slayer) like in Halo 4 but have this BE Halo 5. No more spawning with Plasma Pistols and Stickys. No more jetpacks breaking map flow, no more random power weapons dropping from no where but instead, the classic, arena based shooter that made people play Halo in the first place. Anyone else agree?
Add 2 loadouts, one with Storm Rifle and Plasma Nade, other with Suppressor and Pulse nade.
Reduce Spawning grenade count to 1 across all loadouts.
Include Legendary Slayer Rifles, 4 loadouts, BR Frag, DMR Frag, Carbine Plasma, LR Pulse.
Only reason I suggest this is because the weapons that are direct equivalents don’t have clear advantages or disadvantages over one another anyway. In my personal opinion, the only things that break custom loadouts are Sidearms, Spawning with 2 nades, AAs, Perks, and the choice between Rifles and Automatics. The ability to choose between a BR, or Carbine is COMPLETELY welcome in my books. And if you only spawned with one nade, the differences between your loadout choice would be for most intents and purposes ignorable.
At this stage in Halo 4, WHO CARES when someone has a BR and someone else has a Carbine, or DMR, or LR. It really doesn’t matter. Same goes for the automatics, the differences are so small you might as well be allowed to have your preference instead of risking your life on the map trying to collect a weapon that offers you no advantage over your enemies.
As well, if the Automatics (and Magnum) were the only choices you had as sidearms, and not the Plasma Pistol or Boltshot, I would fail to see an issue with secondary weapon choices either.
All it needs is secondary weapons (as in, a pistol). I don’t understand why 343i thinks secondaries are less competitive. Otherwise, this mode is perfect and I will have a lot of fun playing it! Thanks 343i, and please release it at launch in Halo 5!

I disagree. There is a huge difference between the grenades and a slight difference between the other weapons. I personally disagree with Loadouts at their foundation, not just Custom Loadouts, and think 343i are doing the right thing. Also, consider that the lack of starting weapon variety will be countered by weapons on the map so there really is no reason to add more Loadouts.
