Not sure if this has been touched on before but nonetheless I was thinking about the endings of H1/2/3 and how they all ended in the Chief saying a memorable, great quote.
Halo 1:
“Halo, it’s finished.”
“No, I think we’re just getting started.”
Halo 2:
“Sir, finishing this fight.”
Halo 3:
“Wake me, when you need me.”
So with that I came to the realization that it is an absolute necessity that an epic ending quote be put into Halo 4’s ending.
Thoughts?
New Bad Guy: “What chance does one man have against legions?”
“Tell that to the Covenant.”
“I am one bad -Yoink- muthafluffa.”
Chief: Now we can finally be together.
Cortana: But im an AI and you’re a Human… There are so many obstacles ahead.
Chief: Nothing Love cant conquer.
Arbiter: Were it so easy…
Sir, starting this fight.
I agree, epic ending quotes FTW!! Halo is know for it and Halo 4 shouldn’t break the tradition.
“alright, I’ve went quite some time without tending to my massive built up bladder…”
“I better find a toilet soon or a NEW Flood will be the end of us all…”
What’s more important, I think, is Master Chief’s first line in Halo 4. I’m imagining (hoping) 343 has honed Chiefs debut line in H4 to something downright awesome. Something that really hits you with that “Aww yeah, Chief’s finally back!” feeling, y’know?

I never thought of that. Your right, it definitively needs some line that will kick start that “Chief’s back!” feeling.
*looking over the endless galaxy and a debris field of enemy ships.
Cortana: “What happens now?”
Chief: “They’ll be back; and we’ll be ready!”
POW!!!
But that’s not to say there’s no need for an epic end quote, it should definitely be there, too!
Chief looks through a port from INFINITY as his new enemies begin to amass
Cortana:“Chief, how are we going to deal with something this massive? I mean the covenant was one thing…but this?”
Chief pulls up his rifle, load’s and pulls back the slide with a resounding sound of his gun’s reload mechanism getting in place.:“They may have numbers…but I…we…are SPARTAN’s…“the spartan IV’s move in behind him from shadows:”…they want to destroy humanity? Let them get through us if they can…we’ll be ready, and waiting…the fight’s over, Cortana, but the war…it’s just getting started.”
I think the shorter it is, the more impact it has, but that’s just my opinion.

What about an easter egg ending? That’d be awesome!
Master Chief: “Johnson, sir, i thought you were…?”
Sgt. Johnson: “Likewise, soldier. Guess i ain’t the ONLY short pause badass, in the galaxy.”

-After accomplishing something large to defend and/or attack against the new enemies (similar to ending of Halo CE)
Cortana: “Did we just finish the fight?”
Master Chief: “The fight is over, but the war has just begun.”

“Come back for Halo 5 so you can help me quick scope with my L96 and get a moab to defeat the enemy!”
