While I don’t know for sure because I didn’t bother to check. But doesn’t it seem like there were more maps per DLC package in Halo 3? (Maybe it was just the number of DLC packages though but even if that was the case Halo 3 gave the community free map packs which is something I’d like to see from 343. But that’s not what I’m discussing) So it’d be nice if 343 would put more maps in each DLC package for Halo 4. They have said already that there will be three DLCs that they are planning on for Multiplayer, each having only three maps. This dissappoints me, I never feel like I’m getting my moneys worth for just three maps. And what if you don’t like those all of them? Then you’ve paid $10 for one map. Because in Reach I wasn’t satisfied with the map packs It felt like there was a sheer lack of DLC overall. Unlike Halo 3 where there were a ton of GOOD DLC maps. So since this is DLC and not in final game and it can be changed. 343 PLEASE put more maps in the DLC packages. You have plenty of time after all DLC is all made after the game is finished so it most certainly can be changed.
Thanks for Listening,
In Halo 3, the map packs each consisted of three maps. The same as Reach. Wasn’t it?!
Maybe it seemed like more (probably because there were more DLC packages. Some of which were free, which is nice), but your probably right. Halo 3’s maps were a lot better than Reach’s though. (DLC wise)
I think it seems like the DLC in H3 was better because it was mandatory for some playlists.

We got the heroic map pack, legendary map pack, mythic map pack II, mythic map pack II and the standalone ‘cold storage’ map. They each consisted of three awesome maps, for the most part.
We got the heroic map pack for free and cold storage for free. I hope 343i do more of that, I’d say they will so that Microsoft get more Xbox Live gold purchases.

I would agree that it probably made more people buy Halo 3’s DLC. And I guess some people might think they were better for that. But I didn’t, I loved the maps regardless of if they were mandatory or not. There were a few I didn’t like in Halo 3’s DLC selection, but I liked most.
The only map that was always free for halo 3 was the single map cold storage. The heroic map pack started out as 800mp, but was later made free about the time that either legendary or Mythic 1 were released.
And yes, all map packs have have 3 maps in them, except form the anniversary, which had all 7 that were on the anniversary disc.

Yeah I know, those 7 maps in one pack was nice. I’m just saying it’d be nice to have more than three maps. Heck I’d be happy if it were only one more, like if there were four in one pack. So that way if there were some you didn’t like you would still have some you did. I don’t know, I’m just saying getting more bang for your buck would be nice.
The difference between Halo 3’s and Reach’s DLC was that each Halo 3 one came with at least one Forge map, making it way worth your money.
Heroic: Had Foundry
Legendary: Had Avalanche AND Standoff
Mythic: Had Sandbox
Mythic II: Had Longshore
All of these packs had way more sales than the Reach ones. Just about everyone I met had almost all of them because they were quality and contained Forge maps that were a must for custom games players. Halo 4 needs this to have successful map packs.

Yes they did come with forge maps but they also came with better maps than Reach’s. In my opinion anyways.
