Halo 4's Average Population

So, just saw this in another thread.

Just going to leave this here~

Halo 4 Average Daily Population

I didn’t realise population of a game was overly important…

> I didn’t realise population of a game was overly important…

Well, more people playing the game, less chance of getting a bad host.

> I didn’t realise population of a game was overly important…

It’s not that important, just goes to show that the awesome game 343i has spent several years creating has lost over 76% of it’s population in under three weeks.

Not that it hints at anything mind you.

Unless the fixes are dealt with rapidly, those figures will only continue to decline.

> I didn’t realise population of a game was overly important…

You’re right. When a AAA-game thats been hyped and promoted to all-hell sells 4.55 million units, and less than a month after its release the online participation numbers are already drastically declined (and STILL dropping)…it means absolutely nothing. /Sarcasm.

How obtuse are some of you? It means that the game simply isn’t that FUN. If the game was fun, people would be playing it. I dont know if some of you need help with math, but a peak population of 140,837 (Nov. 26th) is 3.09% of the 4.55 million unis sold of this game. Yes, those 4.55 million copies are world-wide so not everyone can play at the same time, but just look at the number…3 freaking percent. This game is a multiplayer fail.

343 decided to ignore the real Halo fan base, this is the outcome.

Microsoft and 343i should be staring at those population numbers in great concern. The success or failure of Halo 4 will effect the future of the franchise.

Currently looking at Halo 4, I can’t help but be reminded of MW2. Just like Infinity Ward, 343i has done little to no community out reach. Just like MW2, Halo 4 was released long before it was done. Just like MW2, Halo 4 is plagued by game breaking balance issues, and a plethora of glitches. Unlike CoD however, Halo is dependent on being a well-thought out, well-managed, well-designed game for continued success.

A lot of People are having server issues for the past 12-14 hours, calm yourselves we can still find a game quickly.

yeah, a JIP game, placed on the losing team against the winning team with a score of 530 - 310, a total joke!!!

Seriously, i played 3 games earlier, and was put on losing sides with no hope of winning and only get playing for literally less than a minute a game FFS!!

Sort this cluster -Yoink- of a system NOW!!!

Not like the population matters, but me and my friends left Halo 4 because matchmaking is broken. You can’t play with your friends if they aren’t at same skill level as you are, to me games are about having fun with friends, and if that’s impossible, this game isn’t worth my time.

I understand the LE being angry but really there should have never been a reason in the first place by making a second hand citizenry of a population that likes or wants to play your game in the first place. The LE players should have gotten an exclusive specialization and bonus content and that’s it. You don’t hamstring people from playing your game because it’s not 2007 with nothing else to fall back on other than GTA series. This XP cap is very stupid even for a good game let alone one with some serious issues like Halo 4.

Because the past 12-14 hours affects the last three weeks.

Sure.

For the record, I only play Matchmaking when I have friends online to play with, which is purely down to the JiP system handicapping many players when they join mid-game. So I only ever end up playing BTB or SWAT really.

I’ve been trying to enjoy the game for its Custom Games and Forge but honestly, so much has been removed and limited since Halo 3 and/or Reach with the Forge Glitches not being fixed (I’m looking at you, jittery colosseum walls and 90 degree flipping glitch!) that even that isn’t particularly fun. It doesn’t help that the User Data and Cooldown functions on the objects is pointless and broken respectively.

What are you talking about? I play with friends all the time, and their skill levels are all over the place.

The population is a bit scary but I still think that 343 will put out a decent TU by the end of the year and the population should stabilize. At least I hope so.

Let’s hope so.

If they don’t then I doubt Halo 5 will have an online player base.

I’m a long-time Halo fan and, to be honest, I’m just not excited to start up the game.

In fact, today I played Battlefield 3. If you’d told me I’d be back to BF3 three weeks after the release of Halo 4, I would have scoffed at your ignorance.

For playing MM, online population is probably the most important thing. I hope you just woke up and haven’t had your coffee yet with a comment like that.

mm its pretty outlandish. As much as i hate to admit it, halo 4 is pretty boring. ive played heaps the last two weeks (got the game a week after launch), and its just not that much fun. Very repititive, and you rarely get to use fun weapons. Theres only two reasons the population is so low and no one likes the game:

  1. loadouts and ordanance drops. So much more fun when you can pick up shotguns and sniper rifles etc. The title on the case should just be labeled “BR vs DMR”

  2. no competitive skill rank

yea its just a boring game sadly, who would have suggested these changes anyway? what market research would have indicated that these changes would increase population? well whoever it was, they look kind of stupid now

And 76%+ of the community that quit in the past three weeks agree with you.
