Audio has now become a priority in most most games today (except maybe CoD). Sotaro Tojima , Halo 4’s audio director/ composer, has made it made clear that he and his team are putting a greater emphasis on more realistic sounds. Recording sessions have already been done in opened environments, like tasmania. Some recording sessions have seen the use of “homemade explosives”! They even recorded sounds underwater, in fire and ice with special microphones! To me, this is a great step in the right direction (sound wise). Audio can be an equal factor in taking you into the experience just as the story and other elements (characters, visuals). I’m just glad to know we wont have a repeat of the halo 3 AR. A lot of Reach’s and CEA’s weapons showed improvements, but with halo 4, I see sound improvements across the board, in places other than weapons. What do you guys think about this?
Yeah, I like Sotaro. I think he’ll do a good job.

We might be able to hear BR shots from across the map.
