Halo 4 Zealot in Forward Unto Dawn Ep. 4?

The Forward Unto Dawn series is set during the beginning of the Human-Covenant-War. What caught my eye was that the Zealot slaughtering the cadets was the same type that appears in Halo 4. It seems that those Elites arriving at Requiem haven’t much evolved for over 20 years …

That is because they depended on the San 'Shyuum for technology. Since they are gone the Sangheili haven’t been really researching but rather trying to survive. But the real answer is in the Thursday War book. I do not know how to make the spoiler alert thing sorry.

Okay, thanks. You can make a spoiler warning by using the same button as for the quotes. Then just change the word quotes which is in brackets to spoilers.

That was a Spec Op’s Elite not a Zealot.

In Halo: Reach, they’re Spec Ops. In the official in-game renders, 343i re-dubbed them as Zealots. Reason for this change is unknown.

The armor is similar to Spec Ops, but it isn’t the same, perhaps this armor is exclusive to the type of Covenant Fleet they are fighting, just like how the Storm Rifle is exclusive to this fleet and possibly others.

He’s right. They are Spec Ops. Zealots do not have active camo only Spec Ops ranks do. That was a Spec Ops Minor. If it was a regular Spec Ops it would’ve been black which is a Spec Ops Officer. Still I must say I love the Sangheili in this. They look very real this pleases me. I hope they do more movies like this.

I think the reason the Zealot/Spec Ops Elite in FUD is that way because:

Perhaps the Storm armor was based off of ajearlier version of Elite armor. Maybe it wasn’t used much and wasn’t popular during the war, and when the Storm needed supplies, they brought this kind of Zealot armor back. Meaning the Storm armor isn’t completely just run-down peices, maybe it was based off of something.

Probably time constraints. I doubt it has anything to do with canon.

Also, Zealots using camo is merely an extension of their capabilities.

Spec Ops Elites have likely been dissolved from the Covie remnants. The reason they aren’t in Halo 4 is because they wouldn’t have been deployed to such a remote location.

Zealots NEVER use camo. Period. Only Spec Ops and Stealth Sangheili do because they are assassins and spies. Spec Ops aren’t in Halo 4 for unknown reasons. Jul probably saw the rank as a weak one and replaced their Spec Ops armor and calls it a Zealot armor. Who knows. But Zealots never EVER uses active camo in all Halo series.

This is 343’s canon now.

It’s Halo 4 Zealot armor. It’s very clear and is pretty different compared to the spec ops armor. Kinda funny people can’t comprehend it.

Cloaked Zealot

I noticed that too. I always thought that look belonged to Storm Zealots; not Zealots in the Human-Coveant War. Of course, this too can be easily explained as Zealots, while normally more open in their engagements, can opt for stealth by using different armor. Hard to believe something can’t change for 20+ years but that’s the best we’ve got without destroying canon. The armor itself is wicked; by all means it is anything but horrible.

However, i was legitimately freaked out by the invisible Zealots. In the games they are not as scary but how it was pulled off in FuD…that’s exactly how scary it would to face someone you can’t see…with a energy sword…

The armor looks indeed very very cool and realistic. I love the way the facial plates move when the Elite talks his gibberish. Maybe they put that kind of Elite in the l-a-s because the armor is more detailed than previous iterations.

It was really really cool when that one Zealot destroyed the doors of the cadet’s sleeping rooms. You saw nothing, not even a slight silhouette like in the games.

That’s a Stealth Elite, not a Zealot. It even says in the URL.

They took Stealth Elites and gave them the name Spec Ops in Reach for some reason

Yeah, I also noticed that after posting the link. But in any way, the Elite we saw in FuD Ep. 4 wore the same armor Halo 4 Storm Zealots are wearing. Maybe that is why they made the Halo Reach Zealots reddish-maroon … adjustment for later games
