Hey I just got a message saying I reached my XP limit… Does anyone know what that mean? is it permeant or just daily??? Thanks guy!!!
For now, its daily. You stop earning xp for the rest of the day, that also means that any games you play, you wont earn xp and that xp wont transfer over.
The cap is only there for 343 to stop boosters or prevent cheaters, but its really two small. Halo Reach had a cap at Lt Colonel, but that was a very long time before anyone reached that rank. Also, Halo Reach has XP caps in game, but again, it takes a very long time to reach them.
If you ask me, this cap is worst part of this game. Yesterday, I was playing Campaign and multiplayer and reached level 24 befre I got the Xp cap. Did the same thing today, but played Spartan Ops and I reached the cap at 32. Its ridiculous, I like the game and I have plenty of time to play it, but if I’m playing legitmately and finishing my games and not cheating or boosting, then why am I punished with this Xp Cap? It makes no sense as to why it should be so low.
Also, there was a double xp promotion with Moutain dew and doritos, so you would hit the cap even faster. Its ridiculous. I can clearly understand the purpose of it to prevent cheating or boosting, but if xp doesn’t carry over and I’m hitting the cap sooner then expected, theres a problem that needs to fixed.
Yeah And i meant to say it said double* XP limit reached… And yea idk the number to the limit but I’ve been playing for about 5hrs today and I racked up 60games of XP from Doritos and mountain dew so all my games were double.
So i started playing a few games after it said that and still amount of XP it wont go up… I can see if they cut my double XP but still give me the regular XP for playing… this suckss!! I get what their doug for cheaters but 5hrs of gameplay doesn’t really seem like alot to me to reach a cap…
I know Reach had 120,000 daily credit but this is too low!!! But anyways thanks i just wasn’t sure if it was daily or 343 thought i was cheating or boosting cuz I’m already at LV 34 in War Games Thanks AGAIN!!
Played last night, past midnight and a few hours today, no double xp, got the XP limit reached message. 343 should wait until they have a boosting problem, then fix it accordingly, rather than setting everyone’s limit this low. At least if they waited to see what average players are gaining XP-wise, they could adjust the cap so it wouldn’t be stopping non-boosters from playing and earning xp… just my 2 cents.
343i sure are making it easy for players to stop playing all together and move to Black Ops 2 when that comes out. No EXP cap on that.
When I reach the cap I’ll stop playing and wait for it to lift again. Don’t like wasting EXP. Other players may feel the same way. This will effect numbers playing and HALO4 probably won’t become the most played game on Live. It’ll still be COD.
In all the time I’ve been playing online I could probably count the amount of boosters I’ve encountered with one hand. And seeing them at the top of a leaderboard makes no difference to me as I’ll never be Number 1 in the world anyway.
I feel I’m being penalised for something I haven’t done.
Hi guys with me is also just reached the limit.And I’m level 34 and maybe there is a general limit for EP but I’ve already seen one of the Level 41 had!

Alright 343i, hopefully you guys are reading these forums, and taking note of the tone of your clients (fellow Spartans, as well as myself), we are quite unhappy with the progression of the Halo multiplayer series. Campaign is a beautiful work of art, I give props to the story tellers, as well as the CGI department developers, and those associated with the completion of it.
The multiplayer portion however, not too spectacular. Game play is understandably laggy with the servers being overloaded with players, and the ranking systems is reverting to level one blank stats which you guys already know about. However, whenever ordnance drops are called in, whatever you press on the D-pad, you receive something totally different infrequently i.e. ask for spartan laser, you receive plasma grenades. That needs to be fixed, although its a minor issue.
Alright another issue, the functionality of the multiplayer “dashboard” if you will, is extremely unnecessary. As many others have said, the previous installations of the Halo franchise had it set up perfectly, show map on left side, and players on right, all easily viewable. Now we have player cards as if we were on the backside of a baseball card, and I like to who it is I’m playing against without turning my head 90 degrees to view the name. Another issue, I have no idea who is in my party whenever I am the leader, I would like to be able to see who is with me before I go warping into a already initiated game type. I’m sure everyone can understand they don’t want Johnny Whoever from their friends list (maybe they are your twice removed cousin) joining with them unnoticed. Huge issue now (and last that I recall), the XP Online Limit is the most note-worthy disappointment to the game. I understand you want to prevent boosters & cheaters, however punishing the world as a whole for less than 1% of the populace playing is unbelievably despicable. I jump online and play for 2 hours and make the XP limit cap due to my double xp from Doritos & Mtn. Dew. And if you don’t already know, anyone playing with double xp and has reached the xp daily limit, they’re double xp is being wasted every game they play. I should know considering I wasted 30 games last night. Sigh Please fix all these issues.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 just around the corner, I’m sure you would prefer not to lose more than half of your fan base when they decide to turn in Halo 4 at the nearest GameStop & pick up Black Ops 2 which may I remind you, has no xp cap. Please, please, please address these issues! Many gamers such as myself have been with the franchise for the past 11 years, and hate seeing new gamers immediately put it down. Redeem the faults of Halo: Reach & show your fans how much you listen, how much you care, and how much success the Halo franchise will be in the near future to come.

I’m a level 42, and I’ve been capped quite a lot of the past couple of days.It doesn’t make sense to me that 343i is partnering with Mt Dew, and Doritos to do this double xp promotion, then they cap players who are ranking up using double xp?
The cap is daily, but technically it isn’t. Out of the three or so times I’ve capped out, I’ve been able to get xp again after only a few hours. It’s not daily, like most would assume.
Yeah it really turns me off the game… it was 7pm when i reached the limit and i was only playing since 3 so now im not gonna play war games or anything cuz theres no point… the cap is too low and its BS and I encourage everyone who reads this which I am doing is write a letter to 343 and complain… Now i have to wait till tomorrow to play cuz theres no point in playing when u get no XP… Other than that the game is amazing but this is a BIG problem that has to be fixed first update!!

I am capped at 31. Shame on who ever had the idea to put a cap on xp. There are so many ways to get xp its insane to not think people would get a lot. Challenges, commendations, Double xp bonuses, what were they thinking! so angry with them. What is going to happen when we get to the specializations, are they going to let i get two levels into that then cap us. UGH! BTW some of my best games i played i didn’t get any xp for it. i rage tweeted halo waypoint, and got not a single acknowledgement.
I just capped out at lvl 27 after playing less than a 3 hr stretch. I played all night last night and had no problems. I seriously hope the cap is only for a few hours because it’s only 10pm where I am. I guess I might as well beat campaign now.
@TimeAlien 117… I don’t think I could have said that better myself if I had time to think it… Id write to 343 and sent them that… It beautifully sums up the problems on H4… Tho i never had prob with ordinances… the game is laggy at times when theres a lot of traffic online…
ANother problem I had happen to me multiple times is When the Host of the game leaves… the server tries looking for a new host but never done and the game ends without warning and it brings u searching for a new game like nothing happened… But the XP thing is a MAJOR problem that will be the deal breaker that will have ppl not play…
In Reach they changed it from 60,000 to 120,000 but that was months after release date so 343… get an update up quick cuz this is really unnecessary and not fair to us 99.7% who play fairly
Yeah I lost at least 30 double exp games that I won’t be getting back and now that I have hit another cap after playing for 2 hours, I am forced to just stop because I don’t want to lose more 
I’ve been capped for 12 hours or so now. I played off an on for a few hours last night and got capped at 30 around 12pm this morning. I went to bed, woke up. Got some commendations while doing spartan op’s for it to tell me that I am XP capped, still. It would be nice to know exactly when I am able to get EXP again,but it makes me think it resets maybe around the same times Dailies reset.
Me and my friend both got to Sr-33 and we both got capped,but somehow he gets uncapped and now he’s leveling up as i type this. Seriously wth is that 
I am sure 343 industries will raise/lift the cap on experience soon. In my opinion this was done on the grounds of equality as some people got the game days before actual release which would of gave them an unfair advantage.
I hope it is lifted for the weekend…I want to use my specializations, and apparently you need to hit 50 even with the limited edition, or maybe I have not figured out how to unlock it, I could hit fifty if only the cap were lifted…
As I type this I am able to gain EXP again. I assume it’s 24 hours from when you started getting exp? As 24 hours ago is when I got on Halo 4, played some with freinds. I then took a couple hour break and played from around 8am to 12pm, 12pm being when I got credit locked.
Thats my speculation. I agree with one of the above posters that it’s probably to keep it fair, much like the Lt. Colonel back in Halo Reach. I’m sure the limit will be raised in time, they just want everyone to be on equal-ish grounds around the launch of the game.
