Loaded up Halo 4 on the One today (I play every day) and was notified of an update. Around 305 MB or so. Any ideas on what this was for? It’s not on the Xbox One X Enhanced list so I don’t think it’s a 4K/HDR update.
FWIW, I also had updates for Far Cry 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, neither of which are on the One X Enhanced list either. Anyone else get pushed updates for old games they weren’t expecting?
It’s probably going to be something related to the emulation system for the games running on the X1, stability fixes, etc. If it was related to the enhanced games that would have been announced already

Good point. I tend to keep my eyes peeled for Enhanced updates and haven’t seen anything specifically about H4. If it’s general stability fixes for all back compat games, I wonder why it wasn’t just a system update? Why updates for only a handful of games? Seems strange unless it was something specifically for Halo 4.

From what I understand of how emulation works on the X1, they can target and make changes specifically per game. There’s a really good technical breakdown on Eurogamer if you were ever interested in reading more
