I put this thread here because there is no forum for general gameplay, but back on topic when I was reading news about halo 4, I read that halo 4 was being made to be compatible with kinect. Is this true because if it is entirely made for kinect I feel it will ruin the experience. However if there is only small features for kinect and it is mainly controller orientated, I will not be bothered by it.
Seeing as the project is being run by microsoft, and microsoft said themselves they want all Xbox titles to be Kinect enabled. It is very likely that Halo 4 will have Kinect support.

yeah but what I am saying is I dont want it to be fully controlled by it so that it is hardly controller orientated
I would like a limited UI system with Kinect. Navigation of menus, possibly some forging interfaces, being able to look side to side while you are in a vehicle.
Kinect-enabled forge would be a great addition in my opinion. Everything else, not so much.

Not looking side-to-side while in a vehicle? But it’s so useful!
Please keep this gimmicky garbage out of the core experience.
Thanks.

It will probably be optional
well its not like if u play with kinect itll mess any1 else up so its not a bad idea but personally i dont think theyll add it

Kinect-enabled does not mean Kinect-required. Halo Anniversary will be Kinect enabled, but that does not mean you have to use a kinect to access those functions. With titles like the new Ghost Recon and Mass Effect 3, kinect support is there, but you don’t have to use it. It’s optional. Same will go for Halo 4. I’m excited to see how 343 will integrate Kinect, even if I never use it.
Community: Kinect is terrible, a gimmick and nothing more.
Microsoft: The community doesn’t know what they want, so we are giving them more kinect.
Community: Sorry, not using that junk.
Microsoft: Every game shall be kinect enabled!
Community: Sigh, sad little nit wit.
I’m perfectly fine without kinect, and will never get such a device. Halo 4 should not have any function of it relying on kinect, if people want to waste their time with such a weak aspect then by all means.
I’m sure it will sport a “Better with Kinnect” title, but honestly, Microsoft would do everybody wrong to break core Halo gameplay by taking it off of a controller.

that will ruin the whole game
it will take the skill out of the game if it is kinect enabled im not getting it
and i dont even think that is possibe for it to be anyway

Kinect is brilliant. When Microsoft and sony wanted to “cash in” on the motion control craze, Microsoft did something brilliant: they actually developed something new and unique instead of a Wii rip-off. If you didn’t like Kinect, too bad, but over all Kinect was very well received.
Concerning core title receiving the Kinect treatment: they are optional features. Optional. They exist if you want them, but are not necessary to use.
“Better with kinect”, that’s blatant lying when it comes to FPS games. kinect doesn’t work with FPS, sure it can be used for things such as commanding the NPC, but that’s it. You can’t run with Kinect unless you have a huge house (probably something like an airplane assembly hall could be enough) and no, the “Kinect running” isn’t the same, it’s not immersive at all. Turning around is impossible, as much as I would like, my TV just can’t follow me around, same applies to the running part.
We have seen what becomes of games where you should normally be running around when using Kinect. Probably all of us have seen the Star Wars Kinect E3 trailer, it was honestly said pathetic. As much as Microsoft would like to, they can’t get harcore players interested in Kinect, nor can they make a real FPS game that only uses Kinect and doesn’t feel unnatural.
Halo 4 will almost definitely have Kinect support, but no force in this universe can get me to buy a Kinect and no force can make Kinect to attract hardcore gamers.

Dude, the features are optional. Optional. Why the hell do you care?

well said
I think it should but just for the voice and scaning thing not for the gameplay because that would ruin it. What i think they should do is make an option were you say four of your most favorite catch fraces and then you can use it as your firefight voice.
