First of all, You’re a brilliant man and I agree fully with you.

I wouldn’t mind equipment so much as long as it’s consistent equipment, randomness has been plaguing Halo since the BR spread and it sucks. I hope they use a modified version of the Halo 2 engine as I felt like movement on that was the most fun and felt really good, it felt sci-fi but at the same time it wasn’t out of control. Yes I’m a huge fanboy for Halo 2, but I feel like it was the best multiplayer by far in the series. If it wasn’t for the rampant cheating, it would’ve been even better. I believe even in OXM or some other magazine they were wishing for Halo 2 multiplayer style in H4. I trust 343i has some great new ideas up their sleeve, but I’m praying to the Halo gods that the multiplayer plays out on a level with H2, and yes that is an extremely high, if not impossible expectation.

With the return of the Chief, I dont see why we couldn’t get a return to the good old Halo formula’s gameplay

  1. The ability to burrow underground (to a reasonable depth) in Forge.
  2. An air vehicle that is more like of a plane than the Hornet/Falcon or Banshee.
  3. If there is a Forgeworld-like map, then we should be able to spawn EVERYTHING in it.
EX: In Forgeworld you can’t spawn civvie vehicles. In my ideal Forgeworld you can.

That’s about it for now. More later.

you realize they use the halo reach engine like bungie used the H3 engine to make halo reach right? Engine =/= graphics

do you know how much time it takes to make an engine?

+like every halo game, it’s probably going to be so modified that it won’t look like anything related to the reach engine

engines take alot of time to make.

here is what I think of your list

1 yes

2 yes

3 yes

4 yes

5 yes

6 yes

7 yes

heres something they should add to firefight: the flood and the ability to move to different areas of the map and be able to forge objects in the maps just not where the enemies spawn

  1. Disagree

  2. Disagree

  3. Agree, so long as the bullet spread is done properly this time around

  4. Completely pointless

  5. Don’t care

  6. Agree

  7. Disagree. I cannot emphasise this enough. If only there was an editing option that made the text jump from the screen in a cascade of fireworks and start dancing on the keyboard…

Custom game matchmaking would be good but there would be flaws ie someone could host a game on a bs map and you could end up joining something not fun 20 million times

INSTEAD there should be a server list and if you get friends playing and enjoying they can give the server a good rating and you could have more and more people join

My Wishlist
1.no bloom.
2.no armor abilities
3.bring back br and 4 shot system
4.in halo shooting just the tip of the head with a dmr gives the full damage of one bullet but in halo 3 shooting the tip of the head gives partial damage only shooting the whole head could gives a full headshot damage which is more challenging and satisfying to kill.
5.the sniper is easier to snipe in the way that shooting near the head gives a headshot which is too easy to headshot.probably noobs could accidentaly pull off headshots easily as well.
6.the speed of the bullet to an enemy for a should increase so that players could swipe shot in halo 4 like in halo 3.the sniper in reach in quite useless for longer range as you need to hold your crosshair on the player head to let the bullet hit the head.
7.the guns is too weak and unbalanced in halo reach.
8.keep the grenade launcher plus increase damage of the weapon as it is quite useless in halo reach.
9.increase jump height so that players could do ninja.
10.increase weapon ammo capacity.
11.put challenging bosses in halo 4.examples of boss like gravemind or the over-sized hunter that the arbiter fight in halo legends.
12.able to do things like hold dual energy swords only when fighting bosses.
13.hoped that there is is some arbiter side missions like in halo 2,put them separate from the master chief mission.
14.arbiter has the camo ability like in halo 2.
15.master chief has visr system like the odsts with the red and green highlighting of enemy and allies respectively.
16.advantage skulls like infinite ammo, boom, grunt funeral, confeti and pinata in halo cea.
17.skulls that gives unrealistic setting to gameplay.
18.mapping of controls.
19.no assassinations animations to make a fast pace halo experience in killing players.
20.rank system like halo 3 with skill points.
21.great maps like hang em high,the pit,last resort,valhalla,avalanche,terminal,long shore,headlong to be remaked.
22.no more campaign maps for multiplayer.
23.halo 4 should be as challenging as halo 3 and not be as easy as halo reach.

Floodfight

engine =/= graphics or gameplay, IE: GOW and kinect adventures both use unreal engine.

OT, a long campaign
jetpack
the flood
open environments
bright color scheme
cool assassinations
fun.

Gameplay nothing like Reach and more like H:CE, 2 and 3.

Matchmaking system nothing like Reach and more like 2 and 3.

Weaponry and equipment nothing like Reach and more like H:CE, 2 and 3.

Nothing like Reach.

Nothing like Reach.

Nothing like Reach.

Nothing like Reach.

Oh and campaign nothing like Reach and more like H:CE, 2 and 3.

All this of course with some new creativity and innovation.

> I hope they use a modified version of the Halo 2 engine as I felt like movement on that was the most fun and felt really good, it felt sci-fi but at the same time it wasn’t out of control.

It’s amazing how a person can lose all their credibility with a single sentence.

  1. KEEP THE ELITES
  2. new enemies
  3. no brutes
  4. odst firefight map remakes
  5. Firefight Dogfight Mode (an air war)
  6. Floodfight
  7. The return of the Rogue helmet
  8. the return of the smg
  9. keep some covy weapons ENERGY SWORD AND PLASMA PISTOL
  10. NO FRIGGIN BRUTES

MOSTLY IMPORTANT: KEEP THE ELITES!!!

In no particular order:

AAs to be left in, assuming little problems are fixed. I don’t understand why people complain so much–most complaints (except for AL) have to do with “competetive” players saying that “casual” gamers are too good with them. That doesn’t make any sense–what a REAL competetive gamer wants is a challenge, and here is your challenge. Things like jetpack merely add another dimension to combat. I don’t see why people complain; worst comes to worst, grab your own Jetpack.

AL is another story and needs to be rebalanced. Frosting must be completely removed, and any number of other changes could be tried, such as shortening the total length (although if this was implemented, I would suggest a reduction in recharge time), removing the EMP except for vehicles (or vice-versa), blah blah blah. Any number of things could be tweaked with any AA, but I would highly recommend custom settings so that they could be changed by the community after launch.

A return to Halo 3’s lighting style (not system itself). Reach made the system very accurate–the reflections look great in terms of where the reflection is in relation to the light source. H3’s style looked amazing in terms of brilliance of glare–light reflected off of any shiny surface, and it looked great and realistic. Just climb aboard the belly of a Scarab and proceed up to the deck–you’re blinded at first. This is how a game should be.

A return to previous Halos’ color tones. Let’s face it, Bungie tried to make Reach serious and in result we got annoying grunts instead of hilarious ones and a very boring color tone. I can’t stand it anymore, the Forge blocks aren’t the only things that just say BLAH.

Forge 3.0. I want to pull out all the stops, whether they make sense or not–they don’t need to make sense, this is the Halo community we’re talking about. We make chess, skeeball, and hockey. We want more! I don’t understand why some vehicles, like the civilian and campaign versions of Falcons–the code is already in the game. (Don’t get me wrong, I know nothing about coding, it just seems like it shouldn’t be that hard to port them from campaing to multiplayer). There have been some great Forge threads in the forums, and not one suggestion is a bad one.

I mentioned this earlier–but ENGLISH-SPEAKING ENEMIES!! At least IWHBYD should make them speak English.

Vehicle balance fixed. A DMR should not be able to kill a fully shielded anything.

Or, 343i could bump it up to Gears 3 levels. Probably wouldn’t work in split-screen, but damn is that lighting -Yoink!-.

I’d like to see seperate volume features

One for Music
One for Sound Effects
One for Character Dialogue.

Haven’t played much Gears…I’ll take your word for it though

Battlefield 3 has great lighting too, but in different context…I don’t think it would work in Halo

  1. Halo 3’s movement.

  2. The H2 post-patch BR with slightly less bullet magnetism.

  3. Halo 3 melee system.

  4. No bloom.

  5. Scrap AA, return to equipment. Some of the AAs would actually make okay equipment.

  6. 1-50 Ranking system.

  7. A forge map with a wide range of color options. Optimally, I would ask that we are able to change the look/feel of the map somehow so the maps do not get repetitive, but I realize this is not likely to happen.

  8. Halo 2/3 Vehicle health system. I shouldn’t really be able to take out a Warthog with my BR/DMR.

  9. Fun, symmetrical, competitively designed maps. Halo 2 and 3 had it right.

  10. A good story. I have high hopes for it.

  11. Shift the focus from casual gaming to competitive gaming. You can have a game play and act competitively and still please the casual crowd, but the reverse is not always true. Halo 3’s matchmaking system was good because of the Ranked/Social hoppers.

  12. I do not like the ranking system in Reach. I much preferred Halo 3’s, where you needed an overall skill level equivalent to whatever your desired rank needs. I feel like earning a General in Halo 3 was lightyears more of an accomplishment than anything in Reach. I also liked the post-TU ranking system where your service record had your overall rank and each playlist had its own rank based on experience. Again, this pleases both competitive and casual crowds.

  13. Ranked MLG + doubles playlist.

  14. Return to the Halo 3 style announcer. I feel like I’m having a conversation with the announcer in Reach, he calls so much out. This is me being super nitpicky.
