Good game. GOTY worthy? I don’t think so. The campaign was far too short and some of the game felt like a step down in comparison to past Halo games.

Great campaign story and nothing else really going for it… But it’ll probably win whatever it’s nominated for. Sadly, I can’t really think of anything that’s new or any better on the whole.
we shhall c i stand by halo for having a solid multiplayer and campaign with forge as a bonus spartan ops isnt really a good selling point as far as competition? far cry 3 …nope. cod?..nope. ac3?..again nope mass effect 3 and the walking dead are the only competition in my opinion
It’s kinda funny to me that on the Halo boards I don’t expect to see anybody stick up for Halo in GOTY. I love the franchise and think 343 had to take a fresh approach to get away from Bungie otherwise we all would have been screaming about how nothing new was happening, so I’m sticking with them through the “growing pains”. This year I’ve only purchased Madden and Halo but in my opinion I don’t think Halo is anything SPECTACULAR to write home about. Sorry…
Why do people act like there is one GoTY award?
If it did, it would be a crime against better games released this year.
At this point I’d choose Mass Effect 3 over Halo 4, and I hated ME3’s ending.

Better go do your research digging around a bit. Halo 4 is getting bumped down the ladder constantly for other games, I think Black Ops 2 is still reigning as top dog right now and I’m not referring to VGA’s although it probably has high standings there as well.
The shipped version of this game feels like one big beta, believe me I’ll be more than surprised if it takes home GOTY, I’ve always been a big fan of Halo but this and Reach are just sinkers. I can see Halo 4 going home with a shiny gold star sticker pinned to it that says “You Tried”, nothing more than that.
Have you played Max Payne 3? Far superior quality of a game. Stands toe to toe graphically as well. If Halo 4 is even nominated, then Black Ops 2 should be as well, since they share a lot of multiplayer similarities, and length of campaign.
Hell check out Planetside 2, that games free to boot. Then we have games like Far Cry 3 coming out soon. Halo 4 is completely outmatched. If this was last year, it would stand a higher chance.

While I did enjoy it, Halo 4 just isn’t GOTY material. My money’s on Far Cry 3

this is what im saying all these non believers on a halo forum! halo has a ggreat chance to win considering the suckiness of this year in gaming. last year and next yyear haalo would of got blown away but this year it has a strong chance of winning considering mass effects controversial ending
