Now I love to play Halo to see crazy/cool things happen and to win the game. I tend to call myself a “competetive casual”. Now a lot of people are saying that there is no equal footing anymore, once a match starts. Now we have to face people with their type of playstyle.
Uh…HELLO! With every gamer having their own playstyle with them, that means it will be tougher to take them out. For example, in Halo 3 there can be people who dislike the BR, but when they go to reach they love the DMR. What happens? You have a DMR fanboy vs a BR fanboy. Both very skilled with their weapon and are going to have to put those skills to the test, no matter what weapon they’re up against.
With almost EVERY gamer having their favorite weapons and playstyle, that means most matches will be very competetive and fast paced. In all honesty, Halo needed a change badly. I’ve been playing this game since 2003 and realized that a change was needed after Halo 3. It was always shoot, grenade, melee. At times when I die in Halo 3, I knew that if I had an AA or just something else that I would’ve stayed alive and killed my opponent.
Bungie tried something different with reach and failed, but with Halo 4, 343 knows that they can’t pull another reach. AA’s was a GREAT idea, but poorly implemented. Now 343 has a chance to make a GREAT idea implemented correctly, while bringing in some of their own ideas.
Of course this is all my opinion of how I think of Halo 4 so far.
